About this deal

This is the Kill Team bible that contains absolutely all the information you could ever possibly need to get your games of Kill Team going. These figures were teased a while back, but currently the only way to get your hands on these chaps is by purchasing this set. Towering over the others in the set, this is the one that will catch eyes in your LGS – and the one you’ll want to show off on the tabletop. Kill Team's new season takes your operatives to the warped confines of the Gallowdark, an ancient space hulk of dark and enticing renown.

The Pariah Nexus book contains the details you need to play six matched play missions, each designed to offer a balanced battle for two Kill Teams. Notably, the Tyranid Genestealers come in boxes of eight models, with each model costing 11 points a piece to deploy. I’ve not had the chance to absorb its every delicious option yet, but this persistent campaign system – obviously built from the same materials as Warhammer 40k 9th Edition’s Crusade mode – is pregnant with potential for fantastic emergent storytelling.GW’s reasons are its own, but it’s hard not to feel that all this could have been fit into one book– easing the burden on players new and old– without harmingrevenuetoo much. Whilst this is great for hammering home key info about certain mechanics, things are a little bit rigid, and the “playing” one does doesn’t really seem like playing. On top of that, the box also contains a double-sided card gameboard, orky terrain and two full kill teams – Ork Kommandos and the Death Korps of Krieg. Time and again we found ourselves missing rules, forgetting to account for extra tactics employed by the expansion – though, it has to be said, those new rules introduced in Pariah Nexus are quite nice and help add a few more interesting and random elements to the game. One of the most unique Kill Team related products to have been released is the Kill Team: Rogue Trader box.

The Compendium, therefore, is also a bummerfor long-time Kill Team fans with lovingly built, storied Teams on their shelves, made up of three or four distinct types of dude. Not only does this starter box contain two complete teams that can be used in both the 100 and 200 point variations of Kill Team, but both team The two teams available in this set – the Veteran Guardsmen and the Ork Kommandos – are some seriously sweet little models. With Kill Team getting so much attention at the moment following the release of its new edition last year, the provision of a starter set to get the uninitiated into the game was, perhaps, something of an inevitability. Though still very much defined by their oppressive, grimdark visual concept, locked as they are inside WW1-style trench coats and gas masks, these models have a surprisinglywideselection of pose and equipment options to add individuality, and tie each trooper to the role you’llgive them within your Kill Team. First things first: the Kill Team 2nd Edition Core Book, and the Octarius supplement (both included in the Octarius box set) are a couple of the spiffiest-looking books GW has ever produced.

It ran to a princely 208 pages, with well over 100 of those taken up with datacards, tactics, name tables, and points values.First off, the mission walkthroughs are extremely hand-holdy, so much so that the missions instruct players what to do with each figure in each turn.

Get everything you need to fight tense skirmishes in the heart of the Gallowdark – this box includes two complete kill teams, space hulk terrain, rules, and all the accessories that you need to play. The Necrons began their turn aggressively, particularly in the centre of the battlefield, where one Flayed One attempted to charge a lone Intercessor and was gunned down.
