About this deal

A Guide to House Coding House Coding Ei168RC RadioLINK Bases, Ei100MRF RadioLINK+ Modules or Ei3000MRF SmartLINK Modules The 160e Series and Multi-Sensor Fire Alarm use a RadioLINK Module,Ei100MRF,directly into the head of the alarm to gain RadioLINK+ capabilities instead of a base.

The Ei168 base will normally be wired to the nearest mains circuit in the ceiling (usually the lighting circuit). The alarm is then slid onto the base rather than to its mounting plate. As many as twelve units can be interconnected in this way Alarm identification can sometimes be difficult as some alarms can look quite similar, but there are a few ways that you can tell them apart. We have also highlighted a few of the most popular products. Designed for use with the Easi Fit range of alarms and its fully compatible with any Ei160 or Ei140;series alarms. - It is from here that the radio signals are transmitted and received. If you have more than one alarm in the property and they are interconnected, this will also trigger all the other alarms in the property. It provides wireless interconnect between alarms, i.e. when one alarm is triggered, all alarms in the system sound. The Ei168 RadioLINK Base transmits a Radio Frequency (RF) alarm signal when the unit attached to it senses fire. When it receives an RF alarm signal from another Ei168 Base, the attached smoke or heat alarm will sound. It therefore eliminates the need to run long interconnect wires between all the smoke alarms on different floors and in different rooms. Most of our alarms have a 10-year life, after which they should be replaced to ensure you carry on getting the best protection.

Data Extraction Retrieve data from alarm systems in individual dwellings to securely monitor alarm events. The product is CE marked to indicate conformance to BS EN 60065:1998 (Electrical Safety), EN300220-1 V1.3.1 (2000-09) (RF Performance), EN301489 V1.4.1 (2002 08) (EMC) and has been 3rd party tested for electrical safety in accordance with Annex K of BS 5446: Pt.1:2000. Above this is the ‘Replace By’ date, but note that the date on the label shows the maximum life of the alarm and alarms should always be replaced before their life is up. Eliminates the need for any cabling between the Ei428 and the smoke, heat and CO alarms used in the system.

Add to quote” – this option allows to you gather items together and ask us for a no obligation quote. We’ll do our best to improve our already competitive prices where possible. Step 7 – Once the correct number of flashes is present on every unit, insert a screwdriver into the House Code slot on the side of one of the alarms or bases until the blue LED comes on solidly, then release. If you are using an Alarm Controller Ei450 this will continue for as long as you hold down the ‘Test’ button. The Ei168 RadioLINK Base transmits a radio frequency (RF) alarm signal when the unit attached to it senses fire. When it receives an RF signal from another Ei168 Base, the attached alarm will sound. It therefore eliminates the need to install long interconnect wires between all the alarms on different floors in different rooms. The model number of each alarm and accessory is noted on the side of the product, along with the age and replace by date. You can type this number into the search bar above to find out all the details of your alarm.

A RadioLINK Manual Call Point, Ei407 and remote control switches Ei450, Ei412 and Ei411H are also available for use in the system. See separate specification sheet(s) for further information.

Specification

Range: The type of building will be the major limiting factor e.g. the number and type of walls/ceilings that the radio signal has to pass through. As a guide, 30m should be the maximum distance between any of the RadioLINK units in the system. Find the alarm with the red light rapidly flashing. Press its ‘Hush’ button to silence. If that does not silence it, clean the alarm using a vacuum. Wait for 10 minutes and the issue should be resolved. If it is a regular single beep (approximately once every minute), then the battery may be running low, and you may need to change the battery in the alarm. This is relevant for the 140RC Series alarms.

You will know when you need to change the battery, as you will hear a single regular beep (low battery warning) coming from the alarm, however it is recommended that you change the battery every year. Insert a small flat headed screwdriver into the slot, and at the same time, slide the head of the alarm away from the screwdriver. Once all the alarms have been installed the RadioLINK system is secured by a special House Coding function to safeguard the system from interference from other RF systems. The Ei168RC allows for easy expansion of an existing hard-wired interconnected system.Once the system has been set up, information can be accessed securely from within or outside a property if access is an issue. Event logs can be retrieved as many times as necessary and for each alarm on the system, retrieving data such as how many direct button tests have been performed and when, any issues with the battery and/or mains supply, Carbon Monoxide (CO) levels detected if a CO alarm is on the system, Radio Frequency signal strength between alarms, age of alarms and any alarm removed. If the alarms are sounding, there may be a fire present. You should evacuate the property and be absolutely sure there is no fire before returning. If in doubt, always assume there is a real fire present and take the necessary action. Step 8 – The blue LEDs on all units will now stop flashing and the entire system will automatically ‘seal’. Our goal is to provide one stop place for electricians and electrical contractors, but we are happy to help other clients too. The 3000, Ei2110e and 160e Series alarms all use modules to connect alarms with each other wirelessly using radio frequency signals.
