About this deal

In the upper, a newly engineered mesh has targeted stretch zones for areas that need to be able to expand and areas where the foot needs more structure. 3D Fit Print overlays give unintrusive structure for an impeccable fit. The ride of the Ghost 15 is perhaps the most traditional of all the daily trainers. It’s not a shoe that I get excited to run in because it doesn’t have an exciting ride. It has a very simplistic, no-frills ride which gets the job done, comfortably.

I’ve now run in 4 different versions of the Ghost to date and what I’ve noticed is that the difference between each Ghost version is more minimal than any other running shoe series on the market. This means that you know what you’re going to get when you buy a Ghost and also what you’re not going to get because it’s so predictable. Brooks Ghost 15 is a good choice for the neutral runner who likes a comfortable, flexible training shoe that provides soft responsive cushioning whatever the mileage. I think that fast runners who can run a sub 3-hour marathon will prefer the Ghost 15 because their easy pace is below 5 minutes per km (8:03 minutes per mile) so the Ghost 15 will feel more efficient, however I think the majority of runners will prefer the softer 14 over the 15.

Our Verdict

DNA Loft v2 in the Ghost 15 provides a very cushioned, medium-soft ride which is padded but not at all bouncy. The dense foam doesn’t compress very much so there isn’t much rebound compared to some of the other midsole foams on the market. This characteristic makes the Ghost 15 not suited to tempo runs when you are trying to run fast. On my first couple of runs in the Ghost 15 it did seem a little softer than its predecessor, and also smoother in the transition from heel to toe. After extended testing, however, I felt that softness disappeared, and while it’s not uncomfortable at all, the shoe feels very similar to the Ghost 14. Skratch Recovery, Coffee Flavor:Mental and physical boost post run. Coffee flavor is excellent and goes great straight into a fresh brewed cup

I wouldn’t say that the Ghost 15 is an improvement over the Ghost 14. I actually prefer the 14 because it had a softer ride which felt better on easy runs. The Ghost 15 also weighs more and costs more than the 14. The new DNA Loft v2 midsole foam feels remarkably similar to foams of previous years. Whether it’s DNA Loft v1, v2 or BioMogo in the Ghost 10, five years ago, the foams all feel 95% similar to each other. All applicable customs and import duties and any other charges are the responsibility of the customer. The Ghost has an extremely supportive ride due to how little its midsole compresses so even slight overpronators will find the Ghost 15 stable enough. Of all the daily trainers, the Ghost is probably the most stable.Ghost 15 features 8.8% more recycled materials than its predecessor. Upper textile in made 91.9% of recycled or bio-materials (upper in Ghost 14 was made 63.4% from recycled or bio materials). If you’re looking for a cushioned, protective shoe then the Brooks Glycerin 20 and Saucony Triumph 20 both have more enjoyable rides than the Ghost 15 while protecting the legs just as well. For cushioned daily trainers, the Puma Velocity Nitro 2, Nike Pegasus 39 and Reebok Floatride Energy 4 are all cheaper than the Brooks Ghost 15 and outperform it for any kind of run. A Segmented Crash Pad in the outsole helps the foot move effortlessly through the stride. No matter how the foot lands, you’ll experience a smooth transition. Though more cushioned and airier than the Ghost 14, the Ghost 15 is no match against Brooks’s Glycerin when it comes to softness. This is because of different midsoles. The Glycerin 20 and Glycerin GTS 20 have a nitrogen-infused foam (DNA Loft v3), which was used in 2021’s limited edition Aurora-BL. Several testers noted a welcome improvement would be a more cushioned forefoot. Saucony Cohesion 15 - This ultra budget runner is a classic of box stores, but is it really worth it?

On paper the Brooks Ghost 15 seems a substantial update on the Brooks Ghost 14, the brand having changed the midsole material to a new version of its DNA Loft v2. Brooks says the foam on the Ghost 15 is lighter, softer and less dense than the one used on the Ghost 14, all of which sounds great. However, in practice I didn’t really feel much difference in the ride, and the Ghost 15 weighs a very similar amount to the Ghost 14 and has the same 12mm drop. I was hoping the Ghost 15 would be lighter, but at 10.4oz/297g in my UK 9 it’s a very similar weight to the Ghost 14, so any improvements in the ride would need to come from the updated midsole. How I Tested This Shoe Ultraspire Fitted Race Belt:The best way to carry your phone and goods on the run. No bounce and various sizes for waist. (Also recommend the Naked belt) If you do find the same product for sale at a lower price at a UK mainland competitor (instore or online) you can make a price match request. Read below how to claim instore and online: It’s good for easy runs, as long as you appreciate the higher-than-average 12mm drop. The cushioning is not squishy or particularly bouncy, but it protected my legs well and the outsole is excellent, providing reliable grip on wet pavements covered in leaves.

With its balanced mix of comfort and stability, the Ghost 15 Women from Brooks is particularly suitable for beginners. It features an air mesh upper as well as heavy padding around the tongue and collar of the shoe. This makes the running shoe fit very softly and snugly on the foot. In addition, a stabilising support effect is achieved in this way, so that the risk of twisting is minimised. However, the pronounced padding also has a disadvantage. With a weight of 258 g, the Brooks Ghost 15 is relatively heavy in an average size. Optimal for Slow Training Runs The foam is a little firmer than last year so it feels a bit more efficient than the Ghost 14. It also doesn’t feel as comfortable on long runs because the ride is less plush, however it’s still an excellent long, slow-run shoe because of how much cushioning it has.

The Brooks Ghost 15 is a traditionally shaped running shoe that continues as a good selection for new runners, walkers, and people who are on their feet during the day. It is a high drop, moderately cushioned trainer that uses traditional shaping and a single density midsole to provide a relatively stable neutral platform for runners wanting a no-frills trainer.
