About this deal

Seeking a small, yet sturdily constructed and powerful premium binocular from Nikon’s line up with a price tag to match? This candidate suggests we’re getting our money’s worth with a robust but still manageably lightweight magnesium alloy build. Excitingly, Nikon Prostaff 3S features both high magnification and large view ranges: 122m out of 1,000m (10×42) and 126m out of 1,000m (8×42.). In comparison, the Nikon Prostaff 3S 10×42 offers wider angular field of view than that of Celestron ED Trailseeker 10×42 (7 vs 6.5).

The Nikon PROSTAFF 3S 10×42 is designed with a lightweight and compact profile, making it convenient to carry wherever you go. The cutting-edge roof prism design with mirror surfaces coated using silver alloy leads to a further reduced weight. Moreover, its construction lets you handle it comfortably over prolonged periods without experiencing fatigue. Since it has no tripod adaptability, these features are essential. OK, so this budget binocular is rather light on features too. And while it’s lightweight it’s not foldable. However, users do get adjustable turn-and-slide eyecups, and a familiar central focus knob, as well as multi-coated lenses that maximise light transmission to provide a sharper view. Also catching our eye is its slim and stylish single-hinged design, while a soft case, strap and eyepiece caps are included out of the box. Not the most sophisticated or powerful option here, granted, but a very, very affordable starter binocular for the casual observer.Built with multi-coated lenses and arsenic-free glass, the prism allows the light to transfer almost completely through the glass. As a result, you can expect a visible light spectrum and brighter images. Image quality All of Canon’s current range of binos have the ‘IS’ suffix in their model name to denote the fact they’re image-stabilized binoculars. This battery-operated option enables you to get a wobble-free image by just pressing a button on the binoculars – and the stabilizing effect is both instant and jaw-dropping. Best binoculars for horse racing and other sports: Sports tend to happen during the day, so a bright objective lens is less of a concern. Something like an 8x30 will hit the spot, as the 8x magnification should be plenty to see what's going on from the stand. There's no point getting something big and heavy if you don't need it!

Nikon is the older brand than Vortex. Hence, you can expect that this vendor features more prestige and experiences in terms of optics. The quality and warranty of Japanese brands are a no-brainer. The Celestron UpClose G2 10x50 is about as basic a pair of binoculars as you can get. The Celestron brand makes many different models of binoculars, some exceptionally high-end, but this pair of 10x50s represents the most affordable available.Nikon has manufactured the Prostaff 3S binoculars, as well as many other of its optics, with a high-eyepoint design for long eye relief without vignetting. This provides a clear field of view for everyone, even when the user is wearing eyeglasses. Rubber-Armoured Design As I have said many times and is most certainly the case when choosing between 8x42 or 10x42 binoculars: There is no single best option, rather it boils down to selecting the right choice for your particular requirements: Stargazing binoculars don't come much more perfect than these. The Celestron SkyMaster Pro 20x80 binoculars have huge magnification and massive objective lenses to get you closer to dimmer objects than almost any other binocular in our guide. With its wider view, an 8x42 binocular is best at shorter to mid-distances, especially if you need to follow small, fast or erratic moving objects like birds or other smaller mammals. This difference between the two can largely be explained by the relationship between the size of the pupils in your eyes and the size of the shafts of light exiting the ocular lenses ( exit pupil) of the binocular:
