About this deal

The book was released on June 2nd, 2016, which is followed by a sequel released in the same year known as Mega Robo Rumble, and another sequel released in January 2019 known as Mega Robo Revenge, which is about the two bros' half-brother Wolfram returning to get revenge on Dr. Nita Sharma for what happened during the events of Super Robo Seven (a comic that tells a story on what happened before Mega Robo Bros' events). Jötunn Base covers many miles and is carefully rebalancing the world’s climate, but has no defence when Wolfram arrives to reverse the chilling process to burn the Earth and drown humanity… Alongside reeling with high-stakes adventure, Double Threat is also fabulously inclusive, with messages of empathy, fabulous female characters, and incisive, witty deconstructions of gender stereotypes. If that’s not enough, it also boasts a whole lot of hilarious one-liners (“I can see your butt”) and relatable homelife scenarios - even superhero Mega Robo Bros have trouble finding their shoes from time to time.

With humanity safe again the boys are well rewarded by Farooq, but completely unaware that an old enemy has ensured that the threat of Wolfram is not ended… All the same, life in the Sharma household is pretty normal. Freddie is insufferably exuberant and over-confident whilst Alex is at the age when self-doubt and anxiety begin to manifest. Of course, their parents’ other robot rescues can also be a bit of a trial. Programmed as a dog, baby triceratops Trikey is ok, but French-speaking deranged ape Monsieur Gorilla can be mighty confusing, whilst gloomily annoying, existentialist aquatic fowl Stupid Philosophy Penguin constantly quotes dead philosophers and makes most people rapidly consider self-harm or manic mayhem.Nominated for Young People's Comic Award at the 2016 British Comic Awards for Tamsin and the Deep and Mega Robo Bros. Bulldog Empire (written by Jason Cobley, reprinted in Mammoth Book of Best New Manga Vol. 1, ISBN 1-84529-353-3) This amazing book republishes MEGA ROBO BROS, fully remastered and adapted into a new chunky format, with lots of extra bonus content! Yeah, that's kind of important. And because they're robots, their parents want to keep that on the down-low. Thing is, though, that doesn't always work out. Because there's currently some mystery robot out there who seems rather keen on them. Originally published in UK weekly comic The Phoenix, this revised, retooled and remastered saga opens as the bored, curfewed boys sneak into Mum’s workshop. Whilst defeating a reject robot rebellion sparked by artificial life activist the Caretaker, the Bros met monstrous, cruelly damaged droid Wolfram and learned that he might be their older brother… Won the Silver Medal "Graphic Novel/Drawn Book – Drama/Documentary" Independent Publisher Book Award, for Henry V. [1]

Even greater cloaking measures are necessary when the enemy causes a sky-train crash and the boys very publicly prevent a ‘Mega Robo Disaster’, but even they are starting to realise something big is up and Mum is a bit extraordinary herself. This week, however, things are a little different. On Wednesday the lads meet Baroness Farooq of covert agency R.A.I.D. (Robotics Analysis Intelligence and Defence) who is initially unimpressed but changes her mind after seeing what they do to her squad of Destroyer Mechs – all while between singing rude songs, reading comics and squabbling with each other. The Ghost: Dr. Roboticus, the creator of both Alex and Freddy, Wolfram, and the entire team of Super Robo Seven.
