The following games are unsuitable for the Switch Lite:1-2 Switch, Super Mario Party, and Nintendo Labo accessory kits. While games which require Rumble could be played with Joy-Cons attached, we found that trying to play with more than one person on the Lite's small screen isn't exactly practical - so we wouldn't advise trying to take on party games as the device wasn't built for this.

Released in 2020, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is a remake of the original Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games from 2005. These games take place in a world where the player is transformed into a Pokemon and must explore dungeons to rescue other Pokemon. The game has updated graphics and new gameplay mechanics, such as Mega Evolution and Auto mode. If I had to recommend only one game, it would have to be either Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield. These Gen 8 games are the third-highest-selling Pokémon games after Red and Blue and Gold and Silver. Plus, they introduce the Wild Area, sections of the map where Pokémon can be seen walking around in the overworld. If you have a Nintendo Switch Online membership, you can even jump into Max Raid Dens and catch Pokémon with others online. Between reminding us to use our Nintendo Switch reward points and adding Nintendo Switch software folders to better organize our library of games, a Nintendo Switch Online achievements system also went live. Elsewhere, you can now add friends through the Nintendo Switch Online companion app, available on iOS and Android mobiles. It means adding friends is easier than ever on Nintendo Switch. However, the trade-off is that it can sometimes be difficult to read small in-game writing on a smaller screen. We had to hold the console closer to our faces to read some text. This is one of the more subtle designs for sure (at least in terms of the Joy-Con), but there is a certain elegance to the Smash Bros. Ultimate console that we didn't expect from such a bright and in-your-face franchise. Released in 2018, Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee are remakes of the classic Pokemon Yellow game from 1998. These games take place in the Kanto region, which is based on Japan, and feature updated graphics and gameplay mechanics. One of the unique features of these games is the ability to play with a friend in co-op mode.

Remember, it is still possible to play these games on your Lite (except Labo — see below), you'll just need a pair of Joy-Con, something to prop up your Switch Lite and exceptional vision to see what you're doing on that 5.5 inch screen.
