About this deal

The output voltage as a function of load was also tested, sweeping positive from 200mA and then negative from 200mA. In the positive direction, it seems the voltage remains relatively consistent until 880mA and then a slight “bump” is seen. The voltage remains relatively constant up until 2.42A when it begins to taper, signalling to the load that the supply has been overloaded. By 2.52A, it begins its first descent and by 2.89A, it seems OCP has shut down the unit in this test (possibly also due to internal circuitry heating). No permanent damage appears to have resulted. Sweeping in the negative direction, the voltage bump at a very low current can also be seen. Ripple and Noise In general, any charging source that can deliver around 15w or more could be considered “fast charging.”

There are plenty of combination power bank and some other device, but the Tylt Bottle 2 actually makes sense because we're usually carrying an insulated water bottle anyway, so we might as well screw a battery onto the bottom. With a 5,700mAh capacity, the Tylt Bottle 2 is just enough to get us through a very busy day, or keep the phone powered while we play games at the cafe. You need a lot of power: Thankfully, the battery on the Tylt Bottle 2 isn't so big it adds too much weight, but that also means it isn't powerful enough for multiple charges. That means I could twist my phone sideways into landscape mode and use the Baseus power bank as a portable stand for Apple's new StandBy mode, which is one of my favorite features on iOS 17, and certainly the one I use the most often. The discharge data plotted against time showed that as long as you respected the power bank’s advertised maximum current, the output voltage was very consistent throughout the discharge, with the output voltage being fairly accurately set. The output voltage does elevate slightly when there is light loading, but the voltage is well within specifications. When overloaded, however, the voltage is below expectations and the unit may continue to operate depending on the level of overloading. At the full rated 2.1A load, it was able to run for 1h 22m 54s.

Then there’s the charging, and it can Output 5V/2.0A charging speed to your devices. This amount of Amperage is enough to charge many smartphones at their max speed.Your usage habits also impact the lifespan of a power bank. Charging and using your power bank within recommended voltage and current limits helps prevent internal components from being stressed, resulting in a longer lifespan. Additionally, avoiding constant and complete discharge of the power bank can further extend its longevity. 5. Charging and Discharge Speed

It’s worth noting that power bank efficiency plays a role in the actual charging capacity available. Power banks are not 100% efficient in transferring the stored energy from the battery to the connected device. There will always be some energy loss during the charging process, resulting in slightly lower charging capacity than the power bank’s stated rating. The same data, plotted against discharge capacity paints a clearer picture of what happens in overload. At 3A, the unit never reaches the intended voltage and turns off within 12m 8s. At 2.4A, however, it was able to maintain required voltage until the cell charge started to get lower, where the voltage started to tail off. To extend the lifespan of your power bank, choosing a high-quality device, storing and using it correctly, charging it regularly, and avoiding overcharging or over-discharging are essential. Using recommended charging cables and adapters, avoiding high-speed charging, and disconnecting devices after charging also contribute to a longer lifespan.Compared to the more durable options we tested, the Fast Charge has an all-plastic casing that feels a bit delicate and cheap to the touch. It survived our drop test and continued to function, but it just doesn’t have the feel of excellent build quality. Still, it’s a perfectly usable power bank. Using the Anker Prime power bank, we were also able to test the charging speed claims of other power banks, as the Anker Prime will report charging speed in wattage. Over 20,000 mAh power banks are typically for camping or vacation because they can charge all of your portable electronics for a day.
