The estate offers amazing comfort with its spacious swims and modern lodges that are equipped with all the necessary amenities. Structure The most luxurious facility Etang des Gaulois provides is its 5-person rural holiday rental. It contains a spacious living room with a kitchen, a toilet and a shower and two master bedrooms. Majority of the swims throughout the lake feature picnic tables with power outlets of 220-volt, freezer and a fridge. Each lake is brimming coarse fish including bream, perch, roach, rudd and tench, as well as carp to 39lb and catfish to 64lb.

This 20 peg lake has an average depth of 6ft, reaching 9ft at its deepest at the far end of the lake. In some places the banks have been cut vertically whilst in others they have slope at an angle of 45 degrees. At the bottom, the structure is light muddy. So, you might notice the depth difference in places where the river used to flow through the Estate lake. Biggest catches: This lake has 3 swims where a maximum of 4 anglers can fish. Plus, the two lakes have fine specimens of Mirrors, Commons and Grass Carp so you will be able to fish various carps. The image above is proof that there are ample facilities available for anglers and non-anglers while they visit. There are showers, toilets, an oven, gas cooker, fridge, freezer, power outlets and a cabin to stay over. Plus, the property includes a lodge that you can stay in. This is the premier big car fishery in Lancashire. There are 6 lakes in total and the biggest carp has been recorded at 42lb.

Plus, if you are looking for more comfort and might be accompanied by non-anglers then you can rent out the lodge and have a dedicated place to stay. The lodge offers a place for comfort and rest along with all essential utensils like: microwave, toilet, T.V and etc. They have some fantastic log cabins that have been built using traditional post and beam construction, as used in traditional Canadian log cabins. 43. LLyn Y Gors Located amongst the countryside of Hatfield Peverel, Cleverley Mere is about 9 acres in size with depths of up to 18ft – gravel bars, overhanging trees, sunny bays, islands, this lake has it all as well as being home to loads of big, beautiful carp. Estate Lake

At three-quarters of an acre in size and with 14-pegs, Osprey is popular with anglers because of the large number of common and mirror carp it holds between 6lbs and 16lbs. The biggest to come out in recent years have weighed over 25lbs. There are also a few leather carp which run to 14lbs plus a head of tench between 2lbs and 4lbs, although these are not often caught. Kestrel is a specimen Carp lake which contains Ghost, Mirror and Common Carp. The lake record currently stands at 32lb 9oz.

With plenty of car parking space, Birch House Lakes has a small fishing lodge where hot egg, bacon or sausage sandwiches plus tea, coffee and cold drinks are served from 10.00am until 2.00pm in summer, as well as selling baits such as sweetcorn and pellets whenever the lodge is open. There is also a ladies and gents flushing loo. Birch House Lakes has the added advantage that most of the waters are suitable for disabled anglers whilst bailiff Pat is always on hand to offer help and advice.
