Something more experimental comes courtesy of Ciroc; the French vodka is made using snap-frost grapes rather than grain, potatoes or corn.

Established and mysterious with a focus on the arts, the founders of X Muse believe firmly in technology and magic.In partnership with Heriot-Watt University two heritage varieties of barley, Plumage Archer and Maris Otter, were selected, distilled separately and combined in precise quantities, to create a smooth and complex flavour. The two are distilled separately and then blended with precision, to achieve a beautiful balance of subtle flavour and silky texture – a marvellous sipping vodka, and top-notch for cocktails too.

Vadim Grigoryan, X MUSE Co-founder, Artistic and Brand Director comments ‘We look at spirits as cultural products deeply rooted in human history. Made from ‘snap frost’ grapes that are cold fermented before being distilled in a combination of steel and copper stills, it’s a little more refined than your average vodka and comes with a crisp, refreshing taste to match. The Anglo-Argentinean artist is the first to have collaborated with the brand as part of their Reveal Series, producing just 99 hand-painted and foiled bottles which will go on sale in October.With X MUSE, we wanted to create a new generation vodka that defies the notion of vodka being something tasteless and odourless. While vodka does, in fact, freeze, the temperature will need to fall to -23 oC for it to do so - way beyond the capabilities of the average kitchen fridge.
