About this deal

Lightweight buggies often take up less room than full-sized travel systems or more traditional prams and, unlike the latter options, don’t always have fully-reclining, newborn-friendly seats. To buy a good baby travel system that has a car seat and a carrycot, plus plenty of handy extras, you might think that you’d have to take out a small loan… but you’d be mistaken. The KinderKraft XMoov 3-in-1 travel system is remarkably reasonably priced for the quality (sturdy frame and luxurious mink fabric throughout) and the number of features it offers. They come as either side-by-side double pushchairs Opens a new window or as tandem buggies with one seat in front of another. Single pushchairs that convert to doubles are often tandems; you attach the extra seat on top. The Astor 2 didn’t perform as well as other buggies in our topple tests - the instructions warn not to let children lean sideways out of the pram and, during testing, our toddler was able to make it lean to one side. But the swivel, puncture-proof wheels give a smooth comfortable ride for daily life (although they can be harder to manoeuvre on uneven ground). The pushchair whizzed through doorways no problem, but it did sometimes struggle to turn in small spaces.

Key specs – Age range: Suitable for 0 years (with added nest attachment) to approx 4 years old/ 22kg in weight; Wheels: Pumped, swivel; Folded dimensions: L53 x W48 x H16cm; Unfolded dimensions: L77 x W53 x H102cm; Weight: 6.3kgWith an extendable handle and swivel wheels, the Dragonfly is a comfortable ride that steers well, although it does struggle going up kerbs. The brake is very easy to engage - one of the easiest we've come across in fact - and the five-point harness is simple to adjust. Parent tester, Laura, says, "One of the best features of this pram is that the twist straps can be adjusted without the need for rethreading, the same as on other Bugaboo prams like the Bugaboo Fox 5. You simply slide the harness straps up and down to the desired position as your baby grows." Read next: Can you take a pram on a plane? Everything you need to know about travelling with a pushchair About the author For parents, the handlebar offers some height adjustment (between 101 and 108cm), allowing you to tailor the experience to each parent. The one-handed recline is easy to operate, with a choice of six different positions and a fully adjustable leg rest that can support your child as they grow. That said, the seat fabric is much less padded than travel systems such as the Nuna Mixx Next and BabyStyle Oyster 3, so it’s better suited to short journeys than full days exploring with your baby.

We have it and I love it! It’s really easy to put up/fold down, baby seems to be comfy and it's really smooth to push” - recommended by Mumsnet user Amipreg1 Although the fold took time for her to master, Beccy found the one-handed fold and unfold invaluable when out and about with her two children. The handlebar can be adjusted between 92 and 108cm so it’s easy to find the most comfortable setting for your height. Easy to transport and compact for easy storage, types range from the simplest of umbrella strollers to sturdier, more luxurious models. The Metro+ only comes with a rain cover, but there’s a host of reasonably priced accessories – including different coloured sun canopies – that you can buy for adding your own touches.I love my Out ‘n’ About double! It’s so easy and light to wheel, and narrower than it looks; it even fits through doors in my house. My kids are very comfy in it too. It’s heavy when folded down, and bulky in the boot of the car, but it does fit." Thanks to the comfortable seat, easy manoeuvrability, excellent storage and large all-terrain wheels, it easily takes our top spot as the best travel system you can buy today. It’s also worth mentioning that the Nuna Mixx Next is a Which? Best Buy and one of the top-scoring pushchairs in their lab tests. So, while many other prams that are designed for travel and convenience try to match the YOYO, in our opinion this remains the best in class for its light, clever, compact design. Buying a pushchair for your newborn can feel a little daunting. With so many choices available and lots to consider when it comes to transporting your baby safely from A to B, it can be hard to narrow down your options.

I have a Venicci Tinum 2.0. Really like it and find it's good on different surfaces, including woodland. The downside is that the basket underneath is not as big as some other makes/models. However, it's generally big enough for our needs” - rated by Mumsnet user ThePaperTrail Our verdict Its large brake pedal is easy to engage. Parent tester, Laura, says, "The brake is one of the easiest I've used and holds effectively. You simply press the brake down with your foot to engage and disengage it, and this can even be done barefoot or with flip-flops." With a maximum child weight of 22kg, which is around age four, this pushchair is suitable from birth, with a lie-flat seat, supportive head hugger and one-handed three-position recline. To use as a travel system, you can attach the Oyster 3 carrycot (sold separately) which offers a more spacious and comfortable lying position over longer durations with your newborn. For an easy transition straight from the car, car seats such as the Maxi-Cosi Pebble Plus can also be clipped onto the main chassis using the Oyster 3 car seat adapters (sold separately). While this pram is brilliant as it comes, you can customise it depending on your needs, with add-ons including a foot muff, Isofix base for the YoYo car seat, and a buggy board. We used it while abroad in sunnier climes with the detachable parasol, which worked brilliantly over a few days of sightseeing. And it took up barely any space in our suitcase.I love it. It’s so lightweight and easy to push. Both children are side by side, so can see things. And being the width of a standard wheelchair, it can fit through all doorways. It is super easy to fold down and goes pretty flat, so there's no need to take the seats on and off. It's great on pavements and for off-roading, too." While the sideless seat isn’t as padded or cushioned as the Nuna Mixx or BabyStyle Oyster 3, it has three different recline positions and can be used both world- and parent-facing depending on your preferences, or easily swapping between the two. It’s worth noting that although the straps are adjustable as your child grows, this is a manual process and can fiddly. That said, the integrated hood is quiet to operate and provides good sun coverage, with a handy viewing window that helps you keep a reassuring eye on your toddler when world-facing. All in all, this is a practical and smart-looking pram that you can use from birth (with the additional bassinet) until your child is around 22kg. Priam. Such a great pram, we love it. Well made and sturdy, good for country walks.” recommended by Mumsnet user Anewhoo
