About this deal

Knowing and practising the correct badminton techniques makes you a true PRO. Badminton Shots (Forehand) Do you want to know how to return a shot if your opponent smashes? Here are tips to defend against a powerful smash.

Badminton is played on a badminton court with limited space, and the athletes have to take care of the same while playing. Footwork plays a huge role in helping with an effective and organized movement on the court. In fact, some coaches even raise footwork to prime importance over other skills. Tips for proper footwork These are not the only shots in badminton, though. The complete list comprises 11 shots. These are, apart from the six mentioned above, the jump smash shot, the drive shot, the net lift shot, the net brush shot, and the net kill shot. A shot is called a net kill shot when you hit the shuttle from the front of your court and you hit it in a downwards direction. This is a very offensive shot which, usually, you can only perform after you have gained a great advantage in the point. It usually means the end of the rally and a winning point, especially in singles because the court to cover is much bigger and your opponent is, most likely, not well positioned. It is mostly played in singles as a way to try to have time to return to the base point when you have caught the shuttle in a disadvantageous position. In doubles, it is only played to try to surprise your opponent or when you reach the shuttle in a very forced position. The reason for such limited use is because it is very likely that you will lose the initiative when using a clear shot in doubles. This can go on for a predefined set of time. At the end of the time, the person that has more points in his or her score is the winner of the game.

After this, player 1 will return a lift shot, which will leave the drill in the same position as it was in the start with a high serve. The drill will continue onwards until somebody misses a shot. Net static drill These are just the basic shots of badminton, and to really delve deep into the game you’ll need to learn a lot of different kinds of shots. However, the shots mentioned here are the basics, and by practicing them over and over, you can drastically improve your game and build a solid foundation for learning the more difficult maneuvers. The stance is how you stand while playing badminton, both in between a rally and before the serve. A stable and correct stance will bring a huge change in the results due to easier movement. There are 3 types of stance:Get familiar with the badminton court. The badminton court is 44 feet (13.4 m) long by 20 feet (6.1 m) wide. If you're playing singles, you play on the part that is 44 feet (13.4 m) long but only 17 feet (5.2 m) wide. The net should be positioned halfway across the court, made of three-quarter inch mesh at the 20 foot (6.1 m) mark (17 feet (5.2 m) for singles), 5 feet (1.5 m) above the ground. When you're playing doubles, the extra 15 feet (1.5 m) on the left and right side of the court (the doubles sidelines) are considered fair game for serving and returning. Here's what else you need to know: [2] X Research source If you want a bit more information on the net brush shot or on how it is performed, you can visit our badminton net brush shot post, where we go into detail on all the types of net brush shots and how they should be performed. Defending It is important both in doubles and in singles, although it is more important in doubles. In singles, you can win a lot of points by moving your opponent around until you gain sufficient advantage to send the shuttle somewhere where he or she cannot reach it. Do not train the smash or jump smash until you have mastered the above shots. However a powerful smash WINS A POINT!!
