I didn't like the end and would have liked the book/story to finish properly but on balance it's a good tale. i read this at what i felt was an appropriate pace, and i could and did put it down, so now i'm worried that i may be a grouch. She lit it with her Zippo (it had a picture of a jeweled skull on the side), then opened the window, leaned out, and released a plume of smoke from between her lips. Now her picture was plastered all over the staff room like a wanted poster, alerting teachers to her food allergies, and telling them where her EpiPens were. Born on Vancouver Island, Oppel has lived in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, England, Ireland, and now lives in Toronto with his wife and children.

Like Bloom's leading lady, readers will be seduced by this hypnotic, visceral romp--and be reminded that magic works because of what we refuse to see, which may be the moral of all the best fairytales. The story-line in Bloom is fast-paced and set over a period of three weeks, two weeks earlier and one week after and is told in multiple narratives focusing on the three teenagers. Terrified, the crew responds, with Strasheim himself shoving her out an airlock before the Mycora now consuming her can also devour the ship. however, of course I loved how it ended because that's one of my favorite tropes in horror, but I sure had to work for it. The sweet and almost innocent love story begins to take darker twisty turns as we go one and the climax of the book was truly mind blowing. One day Rosemary meets Ash at the farmer’s market after deciding to take a break from men (possibly for good). Bloom is a beautiful sapphic love story at its center, but what lies behind the flowery language and cute flirting, is something far darker.Ultimately, if you're looking for a quick and easy read with some lighthearted sapphic romance before things take a turn, this book might be for you. The book has a lot of ✨️vibes✨️, so the ending in combination with the mood of the book, made for a great read.
