About this deal

The only existing footage of Little Eva performing "Loco-Motion" is a small clip from the ABC sixties live show Shindig! where she sang a short version of the clip along with the famous dance steps. She also sang "Let's Turkey Trot" and the Exciters' song "I Want You to Be My Boy" in the same episode. This TV show was one of her final performances until 1988, when she began performing in concerts with Bobby Vee and other singers. In a 1991 Richard Nader concert, she performed "Loco-Motion" and "Keep Your Hands Off My Baby". The concert was partially documented on videotape, albeit of marginal quality.

This novel starts out with a bang, as the brutalized bodies of a family are discovered off the coast of Scotland, on the remote island of Altnaharra. The scene appears be ritualistic in nature. The same year, Goffin and King wrote " He Hit Me (And It Felt Like a Kiss)" (performed by the Crystals) after discovering that Boyd was being regularly beaten by her boyfriend. [3] When they inquired why she tolerated such treatment, Eva replied without batting an eyelid that her boyfriend's actions were motivated by his love for her. She returned to live performing with other artists of her era on the cabaret and oldies circuits. She also occasionally recorded new songs. On a personal note, I devoured Ward’s last two books, The Last House on Needless Street and Sundial. She has easily become one of my favorite psychological horror writers. So naturally, I couldn’t wait to read the book that won two of the most prestigious awards.

Me ha gustado. La primera novela de esta autora no terminó de convencerme. Esta sí. Me ha tenido enganchada de principio a fin. The world changes at night. Bad things from the beginning of the earth roam in the dark. We must always be safe on the isle by the time the sun falls into the sea." Legend has it variously that King and Goffin discovered Eva's talent when they heard her singing around the house, or when her informal dancing inspired the duo to compose the Loco-motion. King's more prosaic version was that she was already aware of her maid's vocal abilities when she hired her. The Beatles recorded "Chains" on their first album and performed "Keep Your Hands Off My Baby" on their début on the BBC's Saturday Club in January 1963. Little Eva came to Europe with Brian Hyland for a concert tour, but had to return early following the death of her father. Although her career hit hard times, she continuted to record but, rather than having new Goffin and King sings, she was covering UK pop hits like "Bend It". She had little money as she was only on a salary during her hit-making days. This one wasn’t a hit for me but it wasn’t entirely a miss either. I enjoyed the creepy atmosphere and the twist was well written. I also was very satisfied with the ending. But there are a lot of very slow parts that were a bit redundant, I even contemplated not finishing it a few times. However, I do think readers who enjoy thrillers about cults or any of Ward’s prior works will love Little Eve.

Así como distintas voces narrativas que nos harán conocer la historia desde otros puntos de vista, tal y como hizo en su anterior novela. The Loco-motion also found swift popularity abroad. In Britain, Little Eva's record swept aside a feeble cover version by the Vernons Girls, and only the Tornadoes' Telstar kept it from number one.
