I would be interested to see what children would think is going to happen next at key points in the story as I think that they would be surprised! The Stewarts never could have guessed that a day trip to the zoo would mean they'd end up sharing their house with a penguin, let alone the amazing mystery that follows. And Detective Imogen and able assistant Arthur have to put on their smarts and be brave to help their little friend. Imogen and Arthur provide plenty of adventure and some really clever mystery solving, and for a mute animal Einstein is very good at giving just the right hints at just the right time.

Although he doesn’t actually look like it in the drawings, I was quite delighted to find out that Einstein was a little penguin. One day, Einstein the penguin turns up at the house of the Stewart family and they discover he is on a rescue mission. And the very next day, the penguin, named Einstein, does exactly that, turning up on their doorstep much to the delight of children Imogen (9) and Arthur (6). Einstein is a very resourceful penguin, having managed to escape his home at Sydney Zoo and managed to get himself on a flight to the UK, where he believes Issac is and is busy looking for him in London Zoo when the Stewart family see him. Many years later came the 3D animated movie ‘Madagascar” and Skipper and his team became firm favourites.Was a little hard to get into at the start but that may have just been due to my environment at the time. At the delight of young Imogen and Arthur, Mrs Stewart insists the penguin "must come and stay with them whenever he likes.

Featuring cute penguins and shady characters in a mystery adventure that needs solving, even if it means Einstein might not be able to stay. The storyline had enough substance to hold my interest, but there might be some adults who are not as taken with penguins as I am. They would also only drop off a case of books and leave us to run it – it was so lovely to have you on hand to chat to the children and recommend them books, as well as the small (but appreciated!Het verhaal is fantasierijk en avontuurlijk, maar tegelijk heeft de auteur er ook wel realistische dingen in verwerkt, zodat het voor volwassenen eveneens een leuk verhaal kan zijn.
