About this deal

I really loved Stella's personality. It was really unique and I had a fun time reading her POV. Her hobbies were so amazing and interesting to the point that I kind of want to try one of them. I loved how she didn't give up on her idea and stood her ground. The Invitation" is a declaration of intent, a map into the longing of the soul, the desire to live passionately, face-to-face with ourselves and skin-to-skin with the world around us, to settle for nothing less than what is real."

But their promising beginning might not go anywhere when it turned out one of them was not who they made themself to be. with strong lead characters, effortless writing, engaging plot (even though i guessed the ‘twist’ 25% into it), and a realistic and root-worthy romance, this is everything i have come to know and love about VK books. Not the type of book I would typically read but I am so glad that I did. The poem at the beginning of the book is incredibly beautiful, thought provoking and inspiring. I WILL SAY… the perfume plot was A LOT. Like almost the entire story which I understand is the driving point, but also I would have appreciated… a little more romance, a little less perfume? IDK.h (heroine) rating: 4.5 stars. Stella. I really liked her. I appreciated her strength and optimism when being hurt in the past. Moore, Kasey (December 13, 2022). They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story. What would you do if your former roommate stiffed you on two months rent, stole your favorite shoes, and left in the middle of the night with no notice? Would you lie and pretend you’re the former roommate and RSVP “yes, plus one” to a swanky wedding happening in one of your most favorite locations in the city? In April 2019, Screen Gems acquired an untitled pitch from Blair Butler, who was also attached to write the screenplay. Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert were on board to produce the film for their production company Ghost House Pictures; however, they eventually exited the project. [2] [3] In June 2020, it was revealed that the film would be titled The Bride and that Jessica M. Thompson was set to direct, with Emile Gladstone producing without Raimi and Tapert. [3] The original script was written by Butler, who drew inspiration from Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula, with revisions by Thompson. [3] [4] In June 2022, the film's new title was announced as The Invitation. [5] [6] Talking about Characters… This is where my conflict lies. At first glance, the characters are stereotypical, one-dimensional, and caricatures of real people. At the same time, Castle managed to make each character their own person and remain consistent throughout the book, not an easy feature when you have 13 main characters! Were they absurd and unlikeable? Yeah. But if one reads them as satire, they were brilliant. Not to mention that I couldn’t stand any of them, except for the 2 oldest children; this might mean it was the author’s intention for the characters to be satirical. I hope.

The Invitation by Lucy Foley | Goodreads

Tartaglione, Nancy (May 11, 2012). "Luke Wilson, Zachary Quinto, Topher Grace Accept Karyn Kusama & XYZ's 'Invitation' ". Deadline Hollywood . Retrieved April 8, 2016. Unfortunately, this book failed to deliver the major thing that it was supposed to be: Romance. I didn't feel the chemistry, sparks & connection. It was all instalove. I mostly don't like romances where main characters already love/like each other and are still not a couple because of some drama or worse because of some stupid reason. Here that thing was pretty average, everything between the main characters was average. I didn't understand that even after the misunderstanding was cleared why things didn't move on. All these caused the book to be a bit boring. This is seen through her questioning of the listener’s ability to “be true to yourself.” They should also be able to “bear” betrayals without destroying their own soul. I didn't even read the blurb cuz damn that cover was enticing enough for me 🔥🔥 and i had so much fun reading this book. It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
