Sure, the core story is still there, but it's the little things that make be wonder, okay, did whoever scripted this version intentionally want to change things up? (It isn't clear if Kinugasa, who wrote the light novels, also scripted the manga for Ichino to draw.) That kind of thing bugged me a bit even with beloved stories like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, that each version was just a little (or a LOT) different.
