Not content to settle for just gin, they've also just released Scotland's first Absinthe Blanche. Since it began selling Pentland Hills Gin in November 2018 it has moved from strength to strength. The Trossachs Distillery, home to McQueen Gin, offers panoramic views over the stunning landscape from its elevated position. You can book a tour around the distillery where you’ll learn more about the McQueen Gin distillation process, get the chance to sample the award-winning McQueen Gins and learn more about the people and story behind this fast-growing ambitious brand.Four new taste categories have been created in the programme with new awards presented for Best Pink Gin, Best Festive Gin and the Flavoured Gin category has been split with new categories for Citrus and Berry Flavoured. The most popular taste category is still London Dry Gin of the Year with 47 gins in the finals. After buying the copper still from Portugal, what was once a hobby soon evolved into a commercial venture, with their recent debut at the Taste of Grampian Food and Drink Exhibition being a breakthrough into the local Gin market. The Callander-based distillery, which has developed a reputation for creating experimental flavour combinations and world-first gins has already secured contracts with major retailers throughout the country including Aldi, Sainsbury’s and Asda. In addition, through the construction of the visitor centre and associated car park, it seeks to realise the development of a new tourist destination and attraction with the area. McQueen Gin is known for its meticulous distillation process, which includes the careful selection of botanicals to create distinct and daring flavours. They use a traditional copper still, which is often considered essential for producing the finest gins due to the way it removes impurities and imparts a smoothness to the final product.
