Send out MIDI CCs, notes and program change messages, and even use rows or columns as faders – the only limit is your imagination. And both models come complete with a comprehensive bundle of included software, including Ableton Live Lite, a range of plug-ins by AAS, XLN Audio, Klevgrand and Softube. Whichever software you're using, Launchpad Pro lets you control it and any piece of external hardware. Plug it straight into Logic Pro and play it like a keyboard, or connect the MIDI ports to Bass Station II and play riffs on your grid. Launchpad Mini MK3 and Launchpad X also feature the ability to add Custom Keystroke widgets, which send a key or combination of keys at the press of a pad. CC Button allows you to send a Control Change message. You can determine the CC number, the 'on' value, the 'off' value, the channel, and the behaviour (Momentary, Toggle, and Trigger which lets you increment through values). Control Change messages are useful for mapping to various functions, you can map them to things in Ableton such as device or transport controls. Wrong Mode: this means the device is connected and recognised, but is in the wrong state, in this case, it could mean the Launchpad is in Bootloader mode. There are 16 preset scales to choose from, and both Scale and Chromatic modes for a choice of whether notes outside of that scale are available or not.
