Then there's the characters. In addition to doing amazing work with Puss, the cast of supporting ones is superb. Every character is fully rounded. And gets their own storylines with a beginning a middle and an end. We also get a really great villain. A character who is out and out bad. Who know they're that way. And goes with it. That's the way to write a great villain. They do have motivation, so they are three dimensional. But bad with it anyway. It's great.Puss’ was both successful, and critically well-received, and it was the firm intention of Guillermo del Toro (Executive Producer) and Chris Miller (Director), to make a sequel. However, it was a long time in development ~ DreamWorks went through restructuring ~ and the director of the sequel changed to Joel Crawford.
