About this deal

Comparing the two side-by-side, both and without the EQ, the DT 1770 Pro hasn’t been able to reproduce tracks as cleanly in my experience. Inside the box we receive a large semi-rigid carrying case containing the headphones, two cables and two sets of pads (one pleather and one velour). Their soundstage isn't as immersive as open-back models like the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO or Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO, which is normal for closed-back headphones. On the other hand, the padding of the Beyerdynamic headphones is softer and feels more comfortable, but they are tighter on the head than the Audio-Technica.

The other pair of leatherette ear pads offer a more closed sound that is more suited to monitoring applications. The DT1770 Pro headphones come with a high-quality carry case, two cables (straight and coiled), and replaceable ear pads. The figures overall are low, but usually, in the range above 100Hz the values are near zero, however, it’s not the case here. One thing that I have never heard a complaint about with Beyerdynamic is the build quality and that trend continues here. I can consistently get the velours on, but the pleathers pop off and won’t seat right, as if they’re slightly too small. How can you accurately do that on a headphone like the DT1990, which will distort relative volume levels due to its piercing treble and poor bass response?

The headband perhaps is straight away the most noticeable departure and now it’s especially thick and covered in gentle leatherette. jacks, and both connecting to the headphones themselves via a miniaturised XLR input, to reduce noise and improve stability. There’s growing awareness in the community that excessive bass can be just as fatiguing as harsh treble. There may be a perception that it’s an incremental upgrade over the 770 pro, but it’s a huge difference.

They offer a similar sound profile but a sturdier, more premium build quality, including a detachable audio cable and replaceable ear cup cushions. I did get the idea that the 1350 was originally conceived to be used in certain limited studio applications, but that fizzled quickly because of the sound, and now it’s relegated to be an audiometric headphone, where the DT48 died a few years ago. Constructed using durable, high-quality materials, the DT1770 Pro headphones are designed to offer optimum comfort and longevity. They look and feel premium, but their sound quality isn't that different than the lower-end Beyerdynamic DT 770, and the DT 1770 PRO are significantly more expensive, so the investment might not be worth it. If you purchase our extended warranty for this product, we'll extend the money-back guarantee period to 180 days and the warranty period to 10 years. Even larger pinnas will be accommodated without putting pressure on them, thus helping users to wear the headphones for longer. Their extremely high level of efficiency is useful for users in loud environments such as sound engineers when listening to PA systems or musicians. Depending on their fit and positioning, there's also some deviation in the low-mid and treble ranges.
