About this deal

A carbon neutral company, B corporation certified, SURI breaks the mould somewhat by having designed this toothbrush to be easily repaired, should it be required. Many modern brushes are not able to be repaired or it is uneconomical to do so. When thinking about the safety of your brush, know that both manual and electric toothbrushes have the potential to cause harm when used incorrectly. An example is causing wear on the outside of the tooth by scrubbing too hard. Evidencehas shown that electric toothbrushes are of no greater concern to teeth and gums than a manual toothbrush, and some studieseven support the use of electric toothbrushes to prevent worsening tooth wear caused by over brushing.

Where these two brushes also vary is cost. If you share the brush handle with others such as family members it can bring the cost of ownership down. Sadly Oral-B brushes tend to be at the noisier end of the scale compared to Colgate or Sonicare. When running the 670 emits a bit more of a mechanical sound than the softer strong humming vibration of the others. It offers additional cleaning modes, it is the Sensitive mode that is a nice extra to have. I’m not sold on the need for a whitening mode. Whether the supplied head you find suitable or not will be a personal decision. The good news however is that these brushes accept a range of different brush heads that are engineered to achieve different things or may suit your preferences better. There are 6 main types of brush head, these are: On the negative side, the Pro 650 does not have a pressure sensor to alert you in case of brushing your teeth too hard nor a travel case to help storing your brush when travelling.Overall cleaning performance is comparable, so it isn’t a reason to switch if your existing brush works fine. But one review rightly points out that the difference is small. It is unknown whether these clinical trials actually translate into day to day use. It is a similar story for the ExpertClean from Sonicare. It cleans the teeth well and has a good box contents. But, unless you can commit to using the smart features, there are better value options. Otherwise it feels similar to the 9000, but cheaper. electric toothbrushes provide a benefit in reducing levels of gum disease (compared to manual toothbrushes) both in the short term (6%) and long term (11%). What the Prestige can potentially do is educate and encourage you to take better care of your teeth.

As the brush is powered on, the built-in timer and pacer are activated. The purpose of this is you help you and me brush for the recommended 2 minutes and do so evenly. I simply cannot argue with the figures. At 5-6p per day to own (excluding toothpaste, electricity etc) this is a good value brush. Using for longer than 3 months can potentially result in the head not cleaning as well and even doing damage to the teeth and gums.If you wish to return your item to Robert Dyas, you can do so by the following method: 1. Request a Collection via Robert Dyas Customer Services Whilst it is by no means essential, a lower powered mode would be nice to have. This is where the Pro 3 3500 from Oral-B comes in. It has this second mode which is a little less intense. This is particularly nice for first time users to use as it helps get you more used to the power of the electric toothbrush, but from time to time even experienced users might enjoy the slightly more gentle brushing. Over recent years performance and usage time of batteries have gotten better. Most brushes are on par with each other, with an average of around 2-3 weeks use between charges. For nearly all the products we test we create a video review. We also compare popular brushes to similar brushes.

What makes CleanTeeth unique is the way the head moves. It still brushes all the tooth surfaces at the same time, but the whole mouthpiece moves left and right, covering about 12 teeth at any one time, rather than all the teeth in one jaw. You need to balance effective cleaning and disease prevention against the environmental impact. If you suffer from gum disease or tooth decay, you should prioritise effective cleaning. With either of the Pro brushes shown here, the daily clean cycle lasts for 2 minutes (120 seconds) and sees 8,800 oscillations and 20,000 pulsations through that cycle, a number of movements not humanly possible. The cleaning action isn’t quite as intense and thorough as the more expensive Oral-B brushes, but it is a big step up from a manual toothbrush with most of the benefits. The Oral-B Vitality 100 and its box contents

The more premium brushes offer additional cleaning modes which are suitable if you have more advanced oral healthcare needs or are looking for a particular programme such as whitening. In terms of design, the 3500 isn’t as refined as top of the line models like the Sonicare 9900 Prestige and the Oral-B iO Series 9, but it is far cheaper.
