About this deal

If you want to make slime, you’re going to need a slime activator. This is what the makes the slime… well, slime. Most slimes, other than edible slime, require an activator to take all the ingredients and make them into the stretchy and gooey material you know and love as slime. Then you can make all types, including the classic green slime, see through crystal clear slime, this gorgeous gold slime, or unique color changing slime, cloud slime, snow slime, and fluffy slime. Simply mix it in to your base a little bit at a time (often times this will be glue and other dyes, glitter, or other things you want to add). I recommend mixing in ~1 teaspoon at a time. Stir in 6 US tbsp (89 mL) of water, 1 at a time. Add 1 US tbsp (15 mL) of water to the mixture and stir it in. Pour in another 5 US tbsp (74 mL) of water, stirring thoroughly between each spoonful. Note: You may need to add more Sta-Flo brand starch to your slime than Lin-It brand. Our stores carry Lin-It brand so are recipes are based on that specific brand which may be stronger than the other brand. Liquid starch is another activator for slime and a great option if you don’t want to use borax powder. We often use Sta-Flo but you can use whatever brand you prefer. You can either buy an activator for slime or make your own. And the good news, is making your own is incredibly easy and only requires two ingredients.

to Activate Slime Without Activator - wikiHow 3 Easy Ways to Activate Slime Without Activator - wikiHow

Just note that the brand you actually use can impact the amount used in your slime recipe. You may have to play with it to get the desired consistency. Last on our list of what you can use to activate slime is eye drops or eye wash. The main ingredient you will find in this slime activator is boric acid. Each of these contain ingredients that work as an activator to make the perfect slime. Each of these options work really well. You are correct that none of these are truly borax free and contain borons. I would love to hear what other activators you want to try! Eye drops also contain boric acid. The only way to get the signature slime is with a boron activator. However, we have some alternative slime recipes and edible slimes to try! The texture of course is not quite the same. This is our number one favorite slime activator because it makes the most awesome stretchy slime. It’s also more easily available for UK, Australian and Canadian residents. Store the slime in an airtight container or bag to make it last a long time. Place the stretchy slime into a sealable container or zip-top plastic bag. Put the lid on the container or close the bag to keep the slime fresh. [13] X Research source
