The ending does make me want to know what happens next, but I don’t know if I can sit through another slow novel of this size. I may need someone to spoil the sequel for me. Chosen ones do not go around intentionally harming others. If they hurt other people, it’s usually their egos because we tell them truths they do not want to hear. They do not get pleasure from having power over people, nor do they ‘get off’ on seeing people suffer.

Sometimes, I feel like I’m being judgmental for wanting to stay away or dislike a person based on the energy they give off. But this is how I use my discernment. Overall: Ultra slow paced and boring third narration story-telling made me give 3.25 stars but I still think this was interestingly promising start and I still want to read the second installment because After the first part ends, we are thrown into an unexpected fantasy plot that's a bit more generic, but hey at least something happens in it. This is where all the different fantasy aspects are thrown around that probably needed a separate book to be properly explored. But that's the book I'd rather read.

This leads to us becoming an omniscient reader at times who can see what is about to befall out heroes. This contributes to Roth’s detailed world-building, as does the way Roth also uses these articles to cleverly satirise her own world. Starseeds want to heal the world. Because this is exactly what they were brought here to do. Sometimes they can be a bit naïve in their approach. But they are sincere nonetheless. The more we consider being chosen, the more the wonder of it grows. And Paul tells us to consider it.
