I bought these for my wife as she was really upset she won't get polverones for Christmas as normally her parents bring them over. These four types of biscuits are made with wheat flour and ground almonds, lightly flavoured with either crunchy almonds, egg yolk, anise and cinnamon. Their typical Christmas products such as turron (similar to nougat), marzipan, marquesas (sponge cakes), puff pastries… and all the typical almond-based products have long been popular among hundreds of thousands of Spanish families. Ingredients- Wheat flour, animal fat (refined butter ( milk), antioxidants - ascorby palmitate, tocopherol-rich extract and propyl gallate), sugar, almond, egg yolk powder, flavourings and cinnamon powder. Unfortunately they don't appear to travel well, as the majority of the cookies I received were crushed and crumbled. They are soft and powdery, which is where the name Polvorones comes from, since polvo means powder in Spanish. After tombs were ransacked during the Napoleonic Wars, they were reburied in Burgos, and they now rest in Burgos Cathedral.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. A selection of traditional soft Spanish almond biscuits, individually-wrapped, in an attractive hexagonal box. They are individually wrapped and presented in a stylish white box decorated with a blue Andalucian-style tile pattern. The biscuits are made with wheat flour and ground almonds, lightly flavoured with either crunchy almonds, cocoa, wine or cinnamon. We recommend that you do not rely solely on the information presented here and that you always read labels, warnings, and directions before using or consuming a product.
