About this deal

There's no denying that the PS5 is a large console and, depending on how much space you have, you'll either want to stand it horizontally or vertically. While it isn’t an exact clone of the OEM PS5 stand, the Dilwe Replacement PS5 Vertical Stand is a great alternative. If the PS5 is in a vertical orientation, the stand is kept in place by a screw that is neatly placed in a hidden chamber within the stand when it is not being used. The screw is the only thing anchoring the stand to the PlayStation 5 in this configuration, but no concern is necessary as it’s a rather big screw. Does It Matter If The PS5 Is Vertical Or Horizontal?

But more importantly, the panels serve a crucial stabilizing role. Obviously, the PS5 will sit very unevenly in its horizontal orientation if the panels aren’t there, since there’s no way to attach the stand without the bottom white panel in place. And in the console’s vertical orientation, the stand has a central channel in which the PS5 sits, flanked by elevated pieces of the stand that hug the sides of the console. Without the side panels attached to the console, the system is not secure at all in the stand. If, for some reason, you desperately want to use a naked PS5, your best bet is to orient the console vertically on a flat, stable surface without the stand attached. Place the stand on the PlayStation 5’s underside, aligning the hole in the stand with the screw hole in the PS5’s base. Use a flathead screwdriver, or a penny, to secure the stand. To do so, you'll need to attach the PS5 stand to the console in one of two different ways to ensure that your console is as safe as possible. The PlayStation 5 has a very powerful CPU. Because of this, it needs adequate cooling power to keep the internals at an optimal temperature. The cooling fan within the PS5 is only meant to last so long. Eventually, it will fail and it will need to be replaced. On the bottom-side of the Playstation 5, you’ll notice a tiny plastic plug that’s inserted flush into the exterior. This plug is magnetically attached, so there’s a little bit of know-how to get it removed. The PlayStation 5 has a striking appearance and is easily the best console on the market right now, but there’s more to its design than its massive polar-white fins.

After that, examine the base of the console and remove the plug as we described earlier. In the small compartment we just opened, there’s actually a dedicated spot to place this tiny plug while you have your console oriented vertically. Simply drop the plug into its dedicated storage spot and remove the screw that we just exposed. For the vertical mount to work, you need to screw the base in. There’s no hooks on the bottom to give the base stability. But there’s a catch: you’ll have to remove the screw cap from the left side of the console. It’s the side where the power button is, or the power/eject/Blu-Ray drive if that’s a bit easier. There may not exactly be a right or wrong way to position the PS5, but it could be argued that it’s vertical in practically all of Sony’s marketing materials, implying that’s how the firm wants consumers to use it. t’s also just that little extra aesthetically pleasing when it’s vertically oriented. There are a variety of reasons why you would desire to get rid of these items. For example, cleaning out the fan when the machine is consistently overheating (recommended), as well as the dust catchers, which are located just beneath the plastic fins and are easily accessible once those panels are taken off.WHERE pr.product_id = p.product_id AND pr.customer_group_id = '1' LIMIT 1) AS reward, ( SELECT ss.name First, get the PS5 stand in your hand. Hold onto the small piece of plastic on the top-side of the stand with one hand. Next, firmly hold and turn the protruding hook with your right hand, and twist the stand. It’ll then open up a small compartment, exposing the mounting screw for attaching the base vertically. Next, you need to place the PS5 with the rear facing upwards and the PS5 logo on it's left wing facing towards you. It’s the exact same color, size and design as the OEM that comes included with the console. In fact, there’s even the same tiny compartment to keep the plastic plug and screw in a safe position if you want to set it up horizontally. Rather than using and/or relying on the OEM PS5 stand that’s included with your console, there are several other ways to orientate your console.

It’s hard to see from this photo, but the little rectangular enclosure also has a little slot for the plastic screw cap you just removed. You can now screw the base into the PS5 and mount it vertically. Sony’s manual recommends a “coin or similarly shaped object”, but the same small flathead screwdriver that I used to remove the plastic cap worked just fine. You'll want to place the hooks for the stand on top of the squares at either end of this line of symbols. Do this carefully, but firmly, to ensure that the hooks are properly attached to the PS5.

Yes. You can get PS5 bottom screws from us. These are the screws that attach to your PS5 base stand to keep your console upright. Fortunately, the screw you need is hidden inside the base. It only comes out after you rotate the base into the correct position. So turn the base over, and if you’re seeing something like this: Image: Kotaku Australia In this position, you should be able to see a series of symbols resembling the traditional Sony buttons, on the inside of the right wing. Made from a high-quality ABS plastic, this stand is only meant for vertically-oriented consoles. Simply put, because there’s no claw, it won’t work in a horizontal position. However, it works universally well with both the disc and digital versions of the PS5.

It’s very possible to remove the side panels of your PS5, and it’s not simply by physical force: it’s an intentional design feature. How much does this actually matter? Well, it's arguably a complication for any kids who get the console for the holidays and don't want to mess around with tools to set up their PS5s – but it doesn't actually look that hard to get the screw off, based on the video. We'd bet a coin will do it. As the video explains, the single screw can be removed and placed in a compartment inside the stand when it's not being used, with an end piece replacing the screw in the PS5 when you're ready to place it horizontally. As long as you don't misplace the stand, you should be okay. Is this actually a big deal? You'll also want to ensure that the hooks attached to the stand are lined up correctly with the elevated piece in the middle, as demonstrated below: Let’s start with horizontally/lying it flat, like in the feature photo or this shot.
