I have used moler clay cat litter which is pink but turns brown when wet. This doesn't break down , still ok after 10 years.

In terms of molar clay cat litter, I've spoken to Tesco Customer services and it's official, their own brand low dust cat litter has been discontinued.It does not absorb properly - unless I completely emptied the cat loo every day they were standing in their own urine. Anybody looking for an alternative to expensive akadama soil for bonsai repots - look no further. This cat litter product provides the right substitute and it smells nice too!

I also have found an Argentinian lava soil from Patagonia that is sold in Brazil as cat litter. People say wonders about it... Testing it on some cuttings: The litter is OK but it turns cats paws pink and is most definitely not good for them to clean thier own paws and it's also very dusty.You want the one that has very hard grains, it feels like rough gravel and is impossible to crush with your fingers. We are very sorry but due to current high courier transport charges we are unable to supply this products outside of our local delivery area In fact I wonder about moler clay in general because none of my locale garages sell oil spill moler clay granules either, I asked and was told it has not been available for 6 months.

Contents I didn't look closely at the spec. for the last lot I bought, but when they turned up they weren't clay at all but sawdust based, so OK for spills, but not ideal for tanks. The clay particle size is larger than the old Tesco's alternative but looks better and is a closer approximation to akadama.Actually I am finding it hard to find suitable cat litter, I went to three outlets today and could not get ant moler clay cat litter! Well, I guess the same as everyone else I used it in combination with the smaller Tesco stuff when potting smaller plants. But also with John Innes compost plus sharp sand. Personally I would prefer the Sanicat to be mixed with something that had a smaller lump size as I feel it is a bit big to use on its own. Hello, i've read cat litter topic but my english have some limits and there is some things that i have hard time to understand, does anybody know if that kind of cat liter okay for aquarium use ? thx
