About this deal

In terms of sound selection, it has two white noises, three nature sounds, and the Dohm sound, which is a recording of the YogaSleep Dohm’s real fan.

If you read other articles about white noise machines, you’ll see that some writers include smart speakers, wake-up lights, apps, and other devices. The buttons on the Dreamegg D11 are very easy to use. They are large enough to be easy to find in the dark, clearly labeled, and you don’t need to read the instructions to work out how to operate it. And that brings me to the second point – the price of the LectroFan Evo (and the LectroFan Classic for that matter). For a long time, the price seemed quite stable, but it’s been fluctuating a lot in the last two to three years. I timed the lullaby and music box, and they are both around 90 seconds long. And as many parents will know, that’s much longer than it takes to get through the somewhat repetitive Twinkle Twinkle Little Star when you’re singing it to the best of your ability in the dark for the millionth time! As you can see, five of those eleven sounds are clearly intended for children – the lullaby, music box, shushing, vacuum, and fetal tone. Perhaps the fair sound as well. For the loops, I spent many hours trying to time them as it’s often difficult to spot the loop. The higher score means the loop is longer and/or undetectable with sounds like rain. The Snooz is light and compact, weighing less than 2 pounds and measuring 5.6 x 5.6 x 3.2 inches. Its small size and aesthetic appeal, coupled with a modern color scheme, make it a great addition to any room. The Yogasleep Travel Mini lives up to its name by being the smallest and lightest white noise machine I’ve used. Its mini size, internal rechargeable battery, and nightlight make it an ideal travel companion. The loops are unusually long for a white noise machine; I timed several at over three minutes (some devices have loops of just 30-60 seconds). The Dreamegg D11 is an effective white noise machine that the parents of young children will appreciate most. The nightlight, good incremental volume controls, and the option to use it without a cable make it a convenient device for parents. And there are enough relaxing sounds to choose from that there should be at least one or two that children like listening to.

On the other hand, others might appreciate the fact that it can’t get too loud. If you’re worried about playing white noise too loudly to a baby or infant, for example, the Dohm Uno might be a good choice. Unlike many white noise machines, the Snooz offers the ability to adjust the tone of the fan sound by turning the side cap. Moreover, it has more nuanced volume control, allowing you to fine-tune the volume in 10 steps. Most other fan-based sound machines don’t offer much control over the volume, and the maximum volume is surprisingly loud. Despite the cost, the Snooz offers a balance of advanced features and high maximum volume, making it a top choice compared to more basic fan models like the Yogasleep range. If the sound of a fan brings you comfort but you don’t want a bulkier fan, the Snooz could be a good choice. Compared to the D1 white noise machines, the D1 Pro white noise machines have more sounds options featuring 29 high fidelity sounds. It creates a relaxing and calming sleep environment for all-age users. An internal rechargeable battery that will last around eight hours and a convenient lanyard combine to open up more options for positioning it in a bedroom. You can also play it with the USB cable if you prefer. The battery lasts all night, so this is a very convenient feature that sets it apart from many other sound machines. Good nightlight

The Homedics Sound Spa Rejuvenate has one unique feature warranting its inclusion in this review – the capacity to run on batteries. The manufacturer says this is a sound machine both kids and adults will use. However, I think that with five (arguably six) of the sounds clearly made for children, there just isn’t much variety left for adults to listen to.The portability is based mainly on the size and weight, but I also considered whether it can be played without plugging it in. It does offer convenient auto-off timers of 15, 30, and 60 minutes, along with a memory function that reboots the device with your last settings. It's a perfect travel white noise machine with a highly portable design and a rechargeable battery. Just go and enjoy time outside with no hassle, no matter when the littles need a good nap or sleep in the car when taking a long family trip. It also has a mode called ‘breathing’ which basically cycles from dim to bright repeatedly. It’s a great idea, but I didn’t find it was as good as a constant brightness. It does a little jump when it reaches the lowest brightness, which makes it less subtle than I would have liked. I think the vacuum, fetal tone and shushing recordings could have been a bit gentler. But I imagine on a low volume, some kids will like them. As for the fan and white noise sounds, these are both good as they are at the deeper end of the spectrum. I personally find deeper white noise more relaxing than bright white noise.

The warm night light can be dimmed, turned off, or gently glowing in the dark. It makes midnight feeding easier and helps to fall asleep faster with a warm hue. The nightlight emits a calming amber glow with adjustable brightness, creating a comforting environment for children and adding practicality for parents.Despite its kid-focused sound offerings, the D11 leaves room for more diverse adult choices. It has just one white noise and fan sound each, and doesn’t have the ever-popular rain sound. The D3 Pro has clearly labeled category buttons, making it convenient to cycle through the sound types. The speaker delivers clear and impressively loud sound, with surprisingly good bass quality for a white noise machine. The device is close to the LectroFan Evo in maximum volume, reaching over 70 decibels. The unconventional fair sound and vacuum noise probably wouldn’t be an adult’s first choice for relaxation, but may work well to comfort some children.
