About this deal

The rich, reddish colour of PIMM'S No.1 Cup, with its subtle taste of spice and citrus, was brought to life in 1840. The secret recipe of gin, herbs, and liqueur was mixed by James Pimm in his London Oyster Bar to aid the digestion of oysters. It was not only sent to soldiers at the very edge of the Empire, but was also served at Queen Victoria's luncheons. Last but not least, the PIMM'S No. 1 Cup is known as the classic drink to accompany the famous Wimbledon tennis tournament and can still be found at many legendary cultural events. After all, PIMM'S is the signpost to summer! The drinks were assessed in May 2023 by 104 consumers who regularly buy and consume these drinks. 100ml portions were served to each person made up of one part fruit cup and three parts lemonade. But what fruit with Pimm’s? The classic Pimm’s recipe is made with three fruity garnishes: slices of orange, slices of cucumber and slices of strawberry. Finished with sprigs of mint, it’s a gorgeous summer serve. Overall, Pimm’s has become an integral part of British culture, particularly during the summer months.

Tagged as: Look no further than Pimm’s, a gin-based liqueur that has been a beloved British tradition since the 1800s. Much like Aperol, fans of the fruity spirit tend to enjoy it teamed with a mixer like lemonade or ginger ale, but that's not to say you can't drink it straight over ice.

He believes the elegant and understated quality of Pimm’s No. 1 allows it to integrate with rather than overshadow other spirits, while its moderate alcohol content lets you use liberal amounts in your drinks while keeping them balanced. “[But] that same understated elegance tends to get lost if mixed with particularly loud ingredients like Chartreuse, and its lower ABV can risk your drink coming out flat,” he says.
