About this deal

Racing from Paris to the ancient Cathar Strongholds of the Languedoc, Ben is compelled to follow a deadly trail that brings to the fro secrets hundreds of years old. The idea of Mariani’s most popular protagonist, ex-SAS Major and former theology student Ben Hope, came to him while he was out walking in Wales. The character has been referred to as a blend of Jason Bourne and James Bond. Hope’s purpose in life is to rescue children that have been kidnapped by nefarious forces. The first book in the Ben Hope series is called The Alchemist’s Secret. The Alchemist’s Secret introduces our hero, Ben, as a former elite SAS soldier. He is highly skilled, but tortured by catastrophe from his past. He’s put that life behind him as best he could and now devotes his entire life to rescuing kidnapped children. However, when Ben is recruited to locate an old manuscript that could help in saving the life of dying child. He is inspired to change his mind and ends up embarking on the deadliest quest for his life. The manuscript is reported to have contained the formula for the elixir of life, invented by the brilliant alchemist Fulcanelli decades ago. It was later discovered that other people were also hunting for this precious treasure, but it seems that almost everyone, from the Nazis of the past to the modern Shadowy organization known as Gladius Domini, is determined to discover the secrets of immorality.

Dan Brown’s DaVinci Code probably started this trend of adventurous stories that delve into those more curious aspects of history. Indeed, fans of Dan Brown, and even those readers who like the idea of Dan Brown without actually enjoying his books, will gravitate towards The Alchemist’s Secret. However, it features all the hallmarks of a Scott Mariani Ben Hope novel, this including action, adventure, conspiracies and an awesome treasure. When Does The Next Scott Mariani book come out?

As a small child, Scott used to love creating stories and getting his friends to act them out in the school playground. After he’d completed his schooling, Scott relocated to study Modern Languages and Film Studies at world-renowned Oxford University, where he attended Christ Church college. He studied French and German, though today, he is far stronger in French, his German having fallen into disuse. Dogs often seem to feature in Scott’s writings. Is he a dog lover personally, and if so, what’s his favourite kind? This is the perfect book to read for anyone that is new to Scott Mariani’s books. The novel isn’t anything special. In fact, it doesn’t really stand out from the seven books in the series that came before. There is no question of being inactive or sitting idly in front of the TV in this author’s down-time! Scott has many other interests, which he tries to pursue when he can. Nature photography often takes him out to the beautiful wild places he loves so much. He is a keen archer, and has built his own archery range. Scott also likes to have a blast now and then with his Brown Bess musket, and has a lifelong interest in medieval longsword fighting. When he’s in a more contemplative mood, he will spend time with his astronomical telescope studying the night sky. He loves walking with his dogs. And he’s also a big movie fan, with a very eclectic DVD collection that ranges from Quentin Tarantino to John Ford and absolutely everything in-between. Aside from all that, of course, there’s his lifelong passion for good food and wine. Scott has to admit that he isn’t quite as Spartan in his gastronomic tastes as his character Ben Hope – though Ben could drink him under the table any day… Mariani’s Ben Hope series was optioned for film. Mariani has suggested that he would like to see either Jason Statham or Clive Owen play the lead role. For Mariani, the perfect actor for the Ben Hope character must be someone that can manifest strength and toughness even while bringing an extra layer of sensitivity and vulnerability to the table. Best Scott Mariani Books

From the city of Oxford to Ravenna, Vienna, Venice, and the snow capped mountains of Slovenia; Hope and his old flame, the world’s popular opera singer Leigh Llewellyn, must move with a haste across Europe to unravel the mystery. To solve the case, they will need to stay a notch above the determined group of killers who are out to erase the trail of The Mozart Conspiracy. Scott Mariani doesn't seem to have an upcoming book. Their newest book is The Tudor Deception and was released on November, 9th 2023. It is the newest book in the Ben Hope Series. Upon graduation, Scott decided that writing was the only real career in which he was interested. Despite having attended such a grand university, Scott took the brave decision to not hunt down some high-paying corporate position, but to earn money through less high-profile, high-stress work, such as playing music, working in a burger bar, teaching music, accepting translation jobs, and doing freelance journalist work. He’d always been drawn to… Yes, Scott is a big ‘dog person’ and his canine friends play a big part in his life. He was even once interviewed in the UK’s top dog magazine, Dogs Today, where he spent a lot more time discussing dogs than books! He’s been blessed with the companionship of many different kinds of dogs in his life. One of the most special was a Pekingese named Yoda – and yes, he really was just like Master Yoda of Jedi fame. Staffordshire Bull Terriers and Rottweilers are also among his favourite breeds. But his all-time top choice is (like Ben Hope) the German shepherd. The real-life Storm is Scott’s own dog, but doesn’t get up to as many adventures as his fictional namesake! No, The Hope Vendetta is the title that US publishers Simon & Schuster have given to The Doomsday Prophecy. Other than the title change, it’s exactly the same story! So if you’ve already read Doomsday, please don’t go buying The Hope Vendetta expecting a brand new Ben Hope adventure – you’ll be disappointed. Scott had no intention of creating any confusion with the titles, but being merely the book’s author and not its publisher, he doesn’t get a say in these things!Scott Mariani was born on the 1 st of January in 1968, which was a Monday. For those readers interested in all things astrological, that makes him a Capricorn, which is one of the Earth signs. Ben is fairly certain that Brooke’s disappearance is connected to a sunken 16th-century Spanish warship and the wealth associated with its salvage. Ben endeavors to unravel the web of corruption and brutal murder. These are the mysteries facing the ex-SAS soldier Ben Hope in his quest to unravel the murderers of his best pal, Oliver. In the middle of the mystery, there is an old letter that was rediscovered after many years which may or may not have been written by Amadeus himself. Scott was born in St Andrews, a city in Scotland with a population of around 17,000 and which is famous for being the birthplace of modern golf. (I say ‘modern’, but it was actually played here as early as the 1400s.) His surname is Italian, yet his ancestry is actually French. The book is a fast and easy read. Ben Hope is a highly competent individual that uses the skills of his past to save kidnapped children. One such attempt at saving a child by locating a manuscript draws Ben Hope into a dangerous game of myths and conspiracies centered on the search for immortality.

The Armada Legacy: The news that Doctor Brooke Marcel has been kidnapped finds former SAS Major Ben Hope at home in Normandy, giving him possibly the worst news he could ever receive. Ben’s frantic search for his ex-girlfriend leads him through Ireland, the Spanish Mountains, and even Peru’s rainforests. Besides authoring books, Scott also has a passion in shooting photography, archery, and astronomy. He considers himself to be a nature lover and a strong activist of conservation, supporting charities like The Woodland Trust and The World Life fund. According to most readers, Scott is an author who has a unique way of captivating the heart of his readers. This book is very fast-paced and, truth be told, it is unlikely that you will remember it once you are done reading it. But you are, none the less, guaranteed to have a good time. The Alchemist’s Secret: Ben Hope has devoted his life to rescuing kids that have been kidnapped. Perhaps, this is the former elite SAS soldier’s attempt at putting his tragic past behind him. Those looking for the manuscript seem to believe that it holds the formula for the elixir of life. Ben soon learns that all manner of evil-intentioned individuals are hunting this most precious creation. His books are written in English and have also been translated into more than twenty of the world’s languages. Mariani’s Ben Hope series has been described as “James Bond meets Jason Bourne with a historical twist.” In the course of his career and retirement, Ben has been involved in a few relationships with Roberta Ryder, Leigh Llewellyn and Dr. Brooke Marcel. Ben also has a sibling named Ruth who stays in Switzerland, and a son named Jude Arundel. Ben Hope is a man of solitude and peace. He likes to live a private life with tranquility and has a liking for sea shores, countryside and dogs. He has a Storm, German Shepard and a Scruffy from Oxfordshire. Ben likes to listen to the music f the Hungarian composer Bela Bartok along with some jazz music. He is totally against injustice exploitation of the weak and innocent ones, corruption, cruelty on animals, etc. Generally, he sees most of the politicians and police officers and corrupt people, except a few who he trusts and has a deep faith in. Theses include Commissioner Luc Simon, Detective Markus Kinkski, Commander Darcey Kane, and a few others as well. The thing that he hates the most is the disturbance of his private life, his past life, personal questions and the nature of work. Ben has the habit of getting overindulged in alcoholic beverages. He always carries a bottle of his favorite alcohol brand, the Laphroaig. He also likes to smoke French Gauloises cigarettes, by lighting them with his favorite lighter, the Zippo petrol lighter. His habit of sensing the human psychology with the help of his instinctive understanding has allowed him to excel as a rescue negotiator. Ben possesses a special Hi-Power, semi automatic 9mm Browning pistol, however, he is efficient in using all forms of weapons available at the time of crisis. Mariani discovered the character of Ben Hope when he was out walking one day in the Welsh country side near his home. Scott wanted to develop a character that had all the accessories and virtues of the traditional action-adventure hero, but he wanted them to be a unique character and a little bit deeper than other characters in the genre. Hope has all the training and exceptional abilities, but he is an imperfect guy who goes through the same ups and downs that everyone does and is someone that anyone can empathize with. He’ll end up teaming up with a good-looking American scientist, Dr. Roberto Ryder. Ben is directed on a dangerous trail from Paris to the Cather strongholds of the Languedoc, where an astounding secret has been hidden for many years.
