The disadvantage of PVP is that the film is a bit brittle and that PVP loves water (hygroscopic) that tends to destroy the film. The Jouer Essential High Coverage Liquid Concealer never has looked cakey or accentuated any dry patches on me, which Shape Tape has. The Jouer concealer is much more lightweight so even though you’re getting full coverage, it’s not quite so heavy on the skin. ANYWAYS, after a few months of trying out the Jouer Essential High Coverage Liquid Concealer, I can definitely say that it is SUPER similar to all the positives that Tarte Shape Tape provides.

Also, I originally purchased the wrong shade at Sephora and it was no big deal to swap it out for a concealer that matched me. Actually the ingredients are pretty similar to pro longwear as is the texture but the coverage is more like shape tape as in fullest of the full. I assumed that because of the hyaluronic acid the finish is going to be more natural or hydrating, but it's very matte.
