The bulbous top of the glass is ideal for containing a large head on the beer and for trapping the aromas, while the base is slightly flared to help catch any yeast at the bottom of the glass for a better drinking experience. The design of a wheat beer glass can vary slightly and can almost be interchangeable with some pilsner glasses, particularly hourglass pilsner glasses.
