About this deal

The Series 9 comes with a power2go charging case that allows the iO to be charged inside whereas the Series 8 comes with a standard travel case. The table below shows which iO model has which mode. Should you want to learn more about each, do read our Oral-B cleaning modes explained article. Cleaning Modes The Series 9 has 7 cleaning modes (daily clean, sensitive, super sensitive, intense, whitening, gum care & tongue clean) compared to the 5 of the Series 7 (daily clean, sensitive, intense, whitening & gum care). The extra modes the iO9 has are super sensitive and tongue clean.

The iO5 has a brush head replacement reminder light in the cleaning mode button. The iO6 has this reminder on the display. Models that connect via Bluetooth to an app will report the active mode within the on-screen timer. The higher the model number the more features and the more expensive it is. The range topping model is the iO Series 10. The complete iO Series iO3 through to iO10 from left to right They are similar in more ways than they are differentOur guide to the Oral-B brushing modes explains in detail how each differs, but fundamentally they all do a comparable job. Colour screen built into the handle of the iO Series 8. Enjoy an Interactive Color Display which visually communicates mode setting, charging progress, 2-minute brushing timer, and more. Compared to many existing brushes, the iO Series uses an entirely new motor that makes use of a magnetic drive system. A brush head should be replaced after about 3 months. After this, the bristles clean less effectively and are more abrasive on the teeth and gums. There may also be an increased amount of bacterial build up. I’ve yet to find anyone who uses them all or any real justification for having so many. The reality is the cleaning results between each are very similar.

Hardwired into it is a 2 pin UK power adapter (suitable for UK bathrooms). The cord is about 1.2 metres in length. The stand supports 100-240 volts, unlike the 220-240 volts of the standard charger. This is better for you if you travel internationally regularly. The round charger has no protuberance. It does have a 2 pin power adapter, and supports 100-240v. It takes up to 3 hours to recharge the brushes on this stand. Its charging stand is different from the usual one supplied with Oral-B. This is a magnetic charger. The iO8’s magnetic charger tops the battery up in just 3 hours. Yet the app or brush doesn’t do this. It relies on you to move the brush from zone to zone as and when you like. The Series 5 has 5 cleaning modes (daily clean, sensitive, super sensitive, intense & whitening) compared to the 4 of the Series 4 (daily clean, sensitive, super sensitive & whitening). The extra mode the iO5 has is intense.

KEEP YOUR MOUTH HEALTHIER FOR LONGER! Join 8 out of 10 people that became better brushers thanks to iO PERSONALIZED GUIDANCE in just 1 week. I am an advocate for the intention behind the approach. But you need to be committed and see past the quirks. If you are, you can take immediate corrective action, which will likely improve your oral health long term. The light isn’t always easy to see unless you brush in front of a mirror. If using the app, it will alert you on the screen. Of course, the table and quoted prices are just a guide. The actual selling prices vary from one retailer to another.

iO specific heads are very similar. The range has been shrunk to just 4 styles of heads rather than 8. 4 different brush head styles are available for the iO8.Each of the modes use different amounts of power from the motor. This impacts the angle of oscillation at the bristle tips to create brushing patterns and effects that are different from one another.
