About this deal

There are also a couple of classics. Rotate Ion Shields gives a knight a 4++ against shooting. Valiant Last Stand is a standard fight on death ability in melee, counting as on one wound normally or full wounds if Honoured. To pilot an Armiger is an honour, albeit one much less prestigious than piloting a fully fledged Knight. For this reason, Armiger pilots are drawn from the lesser nobility of a Knight world, from distant cousins of the ruling House to commoners and lowborn uplifted by virtue of their exceptional talent for war.

Alternatively either Dominus Knight or the Atropos will also deal with these threats. Knight Valiant and Castellan are your chunkiest options here, as the Valiant’s missiles and harpoon will put the fear of the Emperor into large targets while the Volcano Cannon and Plasma Decimator are great into big models and 2+ saves. The Atropos have both melee and good anti tank and also does this well with Dev wounds on the Graviton Singularity helping get past saves. All of these models work particularly well with the Mysterious Guardian enhancement, allowing you to stash it in deep strike or redeploy it to get good angles. Mysterious Guardian also combos well with your buff from Reclaim the RealmTaranis: The 6+ FnP style save is always good, and their strat that keeps a Knight on the table on a 4+ after it dies is obviously just good in general. Lastly, the Warlord Trait to get an additional -1 AP on a 6+ to wound for Armigers is very useful if you opt to go for it.

Domitars are Automata who are your tank and dreadnought hunters extraordinaire, armed with a pair of graviton hammers that at range put out a template with Haywire and Graviton Pulse. Since these are both rules which you use instead of rolling to wound normally, so we’re not sure what happens there other than “Vehicles, Automata and Dreadnoughts are all sad”. If we’re forced to make an interim suggestion for a ruling – it does both. In melee, Domitars will hit you with four S10 Ap2 Armourbane, Concussive (2) hits each, which are nasty, but weirdly don’t have any form of Brutal, so you’re likely still coming out on the wrong end of a fight with a dreadnought. Knights are typically deployed onto planetary surfaces via a variety of specialized transports such as Macro Landers [15], Cathedrum Invasion Landers [15], and Drop-keeps [14]. Imperial Knights haven’t been tearing it up since the balance dataslate (as intended), but they’ve still managed to put up some solid finishses. Björn Eriksson’s List That works out as a 20% increase in durability for all your models from the start, becoming a 50% increase once you’re Honoured. If you think that sounds like a big deal, you’re right. Each position in the Exalted Court also bestows a Noble Exemplar ability, which improves your Bondsman abilities while your army is Honoured or Virtuous. In the case of the High Monarch, their authority is such that it filters through to the rest of the army – so every time it uses its Bondsman ability to command a squire, it also applies to every ARMIGER-CLASS Knight within 6”. Imperial Armies can bring either a single Titanic Knight or up to three Armigers. They can’t be Warlord and can’t have Enhancements. They also won’t benefit from army abilities, Detachment Abilities, Strats and so on belonging to the “main” army because they won’t have the right keywords. You won’t be able to use Bondsman Abilities because you won’t ever have both a Questoris knight and an Armiger to use them on.

Knight Castellan: Designed for destroying enemies at long range. Armed with a Volcano Lance and Plasma Decimator on each arm. Its carapace is armed with two Shieldbreaker Missiles or Siegebreaker Cannons as well as two twin- Melta Guns. While Armigers may be “small” by the standard of Imperial Knights, they’re still comparable in power to the mightiest war machines used by other armies, and thus, you’ll find them in the Lord of War slot. Unlike other Lords of War, you’ll be able to fit up to three Armigers in a single slot, making filling out a Super-heavy Detachment – and netting three Command Points – easy! We’d recommend pairing two with a fully fledged Imperial Knight for a balanced and powerful collection of units. Knight Porphyrion: Armed with Twin-Linked Magma Lascannons, either a carapace-mounted Ironstorm Missile Pods or Helios Defense Missiles, as well as a pair of Autocannons, Lascannons, or Irrad-Cleansers.
