About this deal

Saffron Walden is home to the largest maze in the world. The maze is believed to be more than 800 years old too! You can still visit the maze today. 18. Watch your speed! As everyone seems to love a long walk, we’ll feature a couple of these in our list of things to do in the UK in 2022. Located on the Salisbury plain, this neolithic structure has been puzzling scientists and historians for centuries. Just outside Edinburgh you’ll find the Port of Leith Distillery. This will be Scotland’s first vertical distillery when it opens in the summer 2022. If you fancy an alternative or more local view of London, grab some street food from Camden Market and take a wander along the canal to Regent’s Park. Then head up to the top of Primrose Hill for one of our favourite views of London.

The other reservoir bigger than Llyn Tegid is Lake Vyrnwy in Powys. This area was deliberately flooded in the 1880s to supply water to the city of Liverpool. The Gower Peninsula is one of the most regions in Wales. The scenery of this 70-square-mile area will amaze you, as you explore pretty beaches, dramatic cliffs and rugged forests and woodlands. This is another section of walk I really enjoyed. Keep your eyes peeled because on the left side of the path you’ll find a ‘Wellness Walks’ plaque. Flip it open and give it a read – there’s some very good advice inside. Take a tour of Durham Castle, a treasure trove of Norman chapels, 11th century carvings and ghost stories.I was probably on the main trail for about 30 minutes before I came to Ambresbury Banks. This was my first real stop along the walk and where I had my lunch. Understandably, Loch Ness is one of the most popular places to visit in Scotland, and is easily accessible by car from Inverness. It’s a beautiful loch regardless of whether you spot Nessie. We’d recommend a relaxing walk around the perimeter or setting sail on a Loch Ness cruise from Inverness, Fort Augustus or Drumnadrochit. Enjoy Edinburgh’s Creative Scene At The Annual Edinburgh Fringe Festival Llangorse Lake is located in the Brecon Beacons National Park. It’s the largest natural lake in Mid and South Wales. The surrounding 4,200 acres of countryside also offer good land-based activities such as hiking and cycling. Rutland Water is a popular reservoir to visit in England Kielder Water Portmeirion village is the creation of Welsh architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis. He began this lifelong labour of love in 1925 and deemed it to be complete 50 years later. It’s colourful, quirky and oozes charm. Colourful and vibrant Portmeiron village, Wales

The Loch is surrounded by white sandy beaches, and spectacular views. It’s hardly surprising that this a very popular spot with hikers and dog walkers. Loch Morar has a beautiful mysterious appeal Loch Shin These rare landscapes are home to some remaining fragments of Caledonian Pine Forest as well as plenty of endangered birds. Loch Maree has steep sides and lots of islands

We predict staycations will continue to be popular this year. We all love having trips to look forward to and with international travel restrictions changing so fast, a UK break seems like a much safer bet. Enjoy a clifftop walk from the stunning bay at Lulworth Cove to the region’s most famous landmark, Durdle Door. It’s one of the closest day hikes from London and will give you your countryside fix. It passes through the spectacular Chiltern Hills, glistening fields of wheat, sweeping valleys, past streams and the River Chess, as well as meandering past some picturesque English villages.

Located in the north west of Wales, Portmeirion isn’t your average Welsh holiday spot. If someone blindfolded you and placed you here, you’d be forgiven for thinking you had been whisked off to a colourful Italian village! Once you come to a pond, cross the road, and keep on walking for about 5/10 minutes until you come to a folk – take the right fork. This will take you down a steep hill in enclosed woodland. Keep on following the path This is just past the right fork In 1923, Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother) once said on her honeymoon to Polesden Lacey that “this is a delicious house”. Nearly 100 years later, that’s still the case. Pre-pandemic, going to the set of ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!’ meant flying 20 hours out to Queensland in Australia. Now that they’ve changed the filming location to Wales, it’s a lot easier pretending you’re on the show.

If you’re looking for a Surrey walk, then this is a great option. Starting and ending at Polesden Lacey means you don’t have to worry about leaving your car.

Eat huge, juicy, fresh oysters, slathered with lemon, vinegar and tabasco, right on the pebbly beach looking out at the sea. There are 5 inhabited islands to visit, and the region is known for its incredible wildlife and warm microclimate. When you see the beaches, you could be fooled into thinking you’re looking at photos of the Caribbean! How beautiful are the beaches in the Scilly Isles? One of the largest personal collections to be amassed, The Burrell Collection displays objects from Europe and Asia representing five millennia of art and history. If you love art and architecture, you will love it here. 16.
