About this deal

In the earlier stories, Melody is sweet, shy, and reserved, and the other students often make fun of her. But when she discovers she’s a RAD (a Regular Attribute Dodger), she feels as if she’s finally found her tribe, and her confidence begins to grow. In " Monster Match", Clawdeen reveals that she is not going with anyone to the Monster Ball, meaning that she is not pursuing anyone yet, whether that be platonically or romantically. At the Stein’s residence, Frankie’s parents, Viktor and Viveka, have a talk with Frankie. With the summer coming to an end, they will soon have to return to their teaching jobs, meaning Frankie will go to a normie (human) school. They explain that they are part of a community known as Regular Attribute Dodgers (RAD), consisting of what normies call monsters. Though originally living in peace with humans, the 20th century saw an increase in horror movies starring and portraying them as violent, causing humans to mistrust them. The RAD’s wanted to flee to Salem, Massachusetts, to escape the mobs and receive help from the witches, but a mix-up with locations, and centuries, saw the RAD’s arrive in Salem, Oregon. They set down roots and built the Radcliffe Way cul-de-sac to protect themselves. To blend in, they give Frankie some unflattering clothes to hide her bolts and seams and stage makeup to cover her green skin, which Frankie is not pleased with. On the first day of school, she wears her own clothes, which her parents disapprove of, but drive her to her school, Mount Hood High nonetheless. When they arrive, Frankie heads inside, dismissing the unusually empty campus, when a group of cheerleaders accidentally slams the front door in her face. The cheerleaders are initially apologetic before becoming terrified upon seeing Frankie’s green skin, and they call the police. Frankie’s parents get her out in time before the police arrive, reveal that her real school is called Merston High, and they had done this to teach her a lesson. Confidence shaken, Frankie agrees to wear the disguise to school. Draculaura is Count Dracula’s adoptive daughter, but unlike her father, she wasn’t born a vampire. Her biological parents were both human, but a family tragedy before she was born meant she was raised in Dracula’s castle in Transylvania.

[3] Killed in a battle, he left Draculaura and her mother homeless. After some time, the two made their way to the province of Dacia, which in modern days partially overlaps with Transylvania, [2] where Draculaura's mother became a housekeeper of Dracula. [3] She and her mother fell subject to a wasting disease (presumably tuberculosis) and her mother, Alina/Camilla, died because of it. Dracula turned Draculaura into a vampire before she could die too, beginning her life as an immortal. One way or another, Draculaura ended up being adopted by Dracula and eventually moved with him to the USA after being chased away by angry villagers. The continuity of the Monster High book series is vastly different from the other Monster High continuities. Rather than Frankie Stein, the role of protagonist is shared between Frankie and the book-exclusive character Melody Carver, with a balance tilted in Melody's favor. Each of the books tells an ongoing story through the eyes of one selected character. In the case of the first book, it's Frankie Stein, the second book is about Cleo de Nile, the third about Clawdeen Wolf, and the fourth one about Draculaura. The thirteenth chapters of all four books are missing from those books and were released on special occasions. The thirteenth chapters focus on Ghoulia Yelps.
