About this deal

Adam Russell, director of foodservice & licensed at Britvic, comments: “Flavoured mixers represent a significant opportunity to encourage consumers to trade up, especially considering that they make up 11% of mixers total share [1]. Over the past year, flavoured tonics have experienced exceptional growth, as consumers who buy flavoured tonics spend more than those who opt for non-flavoured [2]. With gin and flavoured tonics being the number one spirit and mixer for consumers, Pink Raspberry Tonic is a perfect addition for outlets to add to their mixers range. [3] Quinine on the nose. Britvic Tonic smells like a tonic. Mid-palate there’s a definite sweetness about it. The bubbles are medium sized in texture and last for about 1–2 seconds. This March, Britvic is introducing Pink Raspberry Tonic to its line-up, following the success of its first flavoured tonic launch - Elderflower - in spring 2021. A Britvic addition, exclusively for the licensed channel, the new raspberry flavour, with crisp tones and fresh citrus cues, will continue to help operators elevate experiences for consumers when it comes to selecting their mixers out of home.

In early 2018, Juiced joined the line-up. Sweetened only with real fruit, Juiced contains the perfect 50/50 blend of water and juice with natural flavourings, using 100% naturally sourced ingredients. Juiced is free from preservatives, added sugar and sweeteners and contains no artificial colours or flavours. Britvic has been making and selling Pepsi in Great Britain since 1987 and in Ireland since 2007. Originally known as Brad's Drink, Pepsi was first created in 1893 by a pharmacist in the US called Caleb D Bradham who began experimenting with combinations of spices, juice and syrups on a typical hot and humid day in North Carolina. In 1914, during the First World War, over 100 R. White’s employees served in the armed forces and the company supplied the government with over half its horses and vans. At the outbreak of the Second World War, a great part of the vehicle fleet was commandeered by the government and used by the army. Three major factories were wiped out in London alone.Britvic, the third-largest mixer brand in the UK 1, is introducing its first-ever flavoured tonic with an Elderflower addition to its range . Launching exclusively to the licensed channel in April, the new variation will capitalise on the increasing popularity of elderflower, particularly as gin and flavoured tonic is the number one spirit and mixer combination for consumers 2. In 2016 Fruit Shoot was given a refreshing new recipe when we added multivitamins. Just another example of doing good and tasting great.

Britvic has been bottling 7UP in Great Britain since 1987 and in the Republic of Ireland since 2007. As of March 2023, the recipe for classic Pepsi in cans and bottles has changed. The new formula now contains a lower amount of sugar with a blend of sweeteners to maintain the Pepsi taste people expect. Pepsi MAX, is our great tasting no sugar cola, originally launched in 1993. As part of our ongoing focus on helping consumers make healthier choices, we’ve led with Pepsi MAX on all advertising since 2005. The Fruit Shoot story started in 2000, building on the long-standing success, heritage and trusted quality of the Robinsons Squash brand in Great Britain. Adam Russell, director of foodservice & licensed at Britvic, comments: "Providing a tonic option that tastes just as good enjoyed on its own as it does when paired with a spirit will help meet the demands of a wider market as the popularity of low and no alcoholic drinks continues to grow 4. 62% of people think that is it important they recognise the mixer brand used in a serve 5, so by introducing this highly sought-after flavour to the well-known and trusted Britvic range, the brand is actively encouraging people to widen their tonic choices.

In 1970, the company introduced sugar-free 7UP, which was an immediate success among the growing number of calorie-conscious consumers. Brtivic Tonic was reformulated and relaunched in 2016 to appeal to modern palates. It is doubly sweetened with both sugar and saccharin. Tasting Notes

Mr Bradham wanted to offer a refreshing beverage to customers coming into his shop. Five years later Brad's Drink was trademarked and renamed Pepsi-Cola in 1898, and then Pepsi in 1961. Fast forward to today and Pepsi is one of the world's most iconic and recognised consumer brands. In 1969 Gatorade became the official drink of the American National Football League (NBA), a title it holds to this day. Britvic Tonic does some decent things. The bitterness is pleasant and the sweetness is moderate. However, there’s so many tonic waters which do a better job without a slight tinny note on the finish that it’s hard to strongly recommend Britvic Tonic.

Overall

With the rise in cost of living, 56% of consumers are now going out less to eat and drink as they become increasingly cost conscious. 1 As a result, at-home socialising occasions have grown over the last few years, and customers are looking to recreate an out-of-home experience in the comfort of their own homes. 2 Britvic is looking to tap into the rise in this occasion with its new format, suiting more at-home occasions and shopper needs. In 2013, a no sugar version was created – maintaining the same great citrus taste as the original, but with zero sugar to meet growing consumer demand for sugar-free energy drinks. Both variants are available widely across grocery, convenience and independent retailers, as well as wholesale, foodservice and leisure channels. Determined to make his mark at a time when trade in London was booming, Mr Robinson set up his own grocery business in the late 1700s. Initially highly successful, he devoted a sizeable portion of his time and profits to charity and became a key philanthropic figure of the early 19th century, including helping patients who could not afford hospital treatment, as well as charitable initiatives alongside King George III.
