While this speaker doesn't have customization tools, you may not need them. Out-of-the-box, this speaker offers a clear and detailed sound across the range. Voices and lead instruments are reproduced with clarity, making the speaker suitable for listening to many different genres. Plus, like many premium speakers on the market, it has a room calibration tool that automatically adjusts the speaker's sound based on your room's unique acoustics—especially handy for a smaller space like a shower. It doesn't boast the same 360-degree design as the Ultimate Ears, but this speaker still offers a solid sound overall for its price.

The Bose SoundLink Micro is a small, portable Bluetooth speaker rated IPX7 for water resistance, making it safe to use near your shower. However, it doesn't produce bass as deep as the Bose SoundLink Flex and the Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 3. It also doesn't get as loud. The Anker Soundcore Flare 2 is a good alternative to the Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 3 if you want a similarly-priced speaker with more sound customization tools. The Ultimate Ears has a longer-lasting battery life, though, and it's smaller and easier to fit into your shower.

The JBL Clip 4 is a small, portable speaker rated IP67 for dust and water resistance and comes with a built-in carabiner hook to hang it from your shower. Unfortunately, unlike the Anker Soundcore 3, it downmixes stereo content to mono, which doesn't sound as immersive. It also doesn't get as loud and has more compression at max volume.
