To make the cider, the team uses a pneumatic Champagne press that works gently so it doesn’t introduce any harsh tannins into the juice. Often classed as our home away from home, Normandy has a very special place in our hearts and this product is thoroughly recommended! He puts this low alcohol down to shorter fermentation times which they cut short by chilling to leave a little residual sugar.

The Redstreak is a bittersweet apple that makes a cider with a spice apple pie flavour and a rich colour. All the fruit comes from orchards in Kent and the cider is made in small batches on an oak cider press that its makers have nicknamed Alice. We like the Cloudy Vintage but if you want something a little different, there is a rose version which adds apple blossom to proceedings. Those that make it through the first round are then subject to further testing, where we compare like for like ciders to find the best in specific categories.
