About this deal

Rebond foam, as the name suggests, is a type of foam. It’s a more eco-friendly version of foam as it’s made from recycled shredded scrap foam (leftovers of different types of foam). This is a rather unique makeup compared to other types of foam. We supply 3 different colours / grades, with green being the least dense (softest) and yellow the most dense (firmest). Density is not a measure of how firm the foam will be. Foam can, in fact, be soft to press down, but dense in weight (or quality). Density is mainly an indicator of the quality and lifespan of the foam.

Mattresses: Recon Foam is a popular choice in the mattress industry due to its ability to evenly distribute weight and reduce pressure points. It ensures a restful night’s sleep by providing the ideal balance of softness and support. A child is less likely to sink into foam than a heavy person. So knowing “who” is going to be using the foam becomes a factor. Because of the chemicals used, the memory foam is quite insulating and you can become hot at night. And due to the extensive processes involved, the cost is passed onto the consumer. A higher ILD implies a firmer foam than that of a lower ILD. On average Rebond foam has an ILD of 7.0 pounds. Before you take the kitchen scissors to a new piece of foam, there are a few methods you can consider to achieve a better shape and finish.

Water expelled at an extremely high pressure can cut through a surprising number of materials including foam. CNC water jet cutting is generally used to produce foam products with more intricate details. Profiling Machines

Yes, it’s not a problem to collect. Find us HERE. Please note that collections are only possible during normal working hours: When you’re ready to start cutting the foam you’ll need to choose an appropriate tool. One of the most accessible tools you can use to cut foam at home is an electric carving knife. These do quite a good job of cleanly cutting through the material. If you don’t have one of these to hand, you could also try using a long, sharp serrated knife. As always, you should be especially careful when handling sharp tools. Here’s the guide on what rebond foam is, the common uses, how it’s made and the main features. But let’s start with a summary….

If you’re considering buying foam and can see it first hand, or can obtain a sample beforehand, then apply this simple test yourself and you will get a better understanding of what the firmness rating actually means. Band knife cutting machines are manually operated tools designed to cleanly cut through foam. A piece of foam is laid out onto the flat surface of the machine and a skilled foam cutter guides the material through a long, sharp, vertical blade. This is a versatile machine that, when operated correctly, can produce a variety of foam shapes. CNC Water Jets

All good things in moderation

In general Rebond foam stands up to high impact/usage and can be used for applications that serve best for moderate to heavy residential and commercial uses.
