About this deal

UltraFast Innovations (UFI) offers ultrahigh reflectivity (>99.99%) dielectric mirrors, made with our magnetron sputtering facility. More than 99.997% reflectivity over a bandwidth of more than 200nm is achievable.

That's not easy, but best understood in cases with few layer pairs and a low reflectivity per layer pair, where we can neglect effects of multiple reflections. The reflected light amplitude is then the superposition of one amplitude contribution per layer pair. The wavelength offset from the wavelength of peak reflectivity determines the phase change between two such contributions. If you had only two of those, you would get a purely oscillatory behavior of reflectivity vs. wavelength. With more of them, it gets more complicated, but certainly you shouldn't expect the reflectivity to monotonously decay for increasing phase changes. The resonator mirrors of a laser are almost always dielectric mirrors because such devices routinely achieve a very high reflectance of > 99.9%, and their limited reflection bandwidth can be convenient because it allows the transmission of pump light (at a shorter wavelength) through a folding mirror of the resonator (→ dichroic mirrors). Dielectric mirrors used for lasers and for reflecting laser beams are often called laser mirrors. E. Fedulova et al., “Kerr effect in multilayer dielectric coatings”, Opt. Express 24 (19), 21802 (2016), DOI:10.1364/OE.24.021802 It took a while for me to understand how I look with sunscreen (skin totally looks very very dark) and without (skin still looks dark but grey-ish) OPTOMAN's IBS-coated wavelength separators feature spectral drift-free performance, which is why very sharp edge configurations are feasible. IBS coated dichroic mirrors feature spectral drift-free performance that allows very sharp edge configurations. OPTOMAN can make mirrors with transmittance over 99% and reflectance over 99.9%. Dichroic mirrors are optimized for ultrafast applications and feature minimum pulse dispersion. LASEROPTIKIt can be a difficult task to find a dielectric mirror design which satisfies certain criteria, such as However, Transfer UV also can not solve the issue raised when you try the meshes which don’t have same topology. Invert Normals We are able to provide custom UV grade concave mirrors with increased performance and tight tolerances for imaging quality. Custom UV grade concave mirrors can be supplied with short focal lengths to long focal lengths over 2000mm long. Diameters are unrestricted however generally range from 5mm to over 350mm diameter. The higher the refractive index contrast of the used layer materials, the smaller is the number of layer pairs required for a high reflectance, and the higher will be the reflection bandwidth. For any dielectric mirror, the reflection spectrum ( reflectance vs. wavelength) depends on the angle of incidence and (for non-normal incidence) also on the polarization of the input light. Only to a limited extent, mirror designs can be made such that the desired dichroic properties are achieved over some range of input angles.
