About this deal

We also have locations in New York, California, Michigan, across Asia and will be debuting in Germany soon. Located in Richmond Park, this flower garden in London is packed full of dreamy flowers like colourful azaleas.

If you'd rather not take in the vistas from a bungee-jumping harness, cozy up at Matakauri Lodge's courtyard or large infinity pool—both viable viewing platforms. Donated by the city of Kyoto in the 90s, it’s a peaceful oasis inspired by traditional Japanese gardens and one of the most romantic places in the city.

A more recent addition that’s great for kids is a play area inspired by the travels of former owners Stephen and Virginia Courtauld. It’s a not-for-profit that relies on donations, so if you have any spare pounds – consider handing them over. London’s first contemporary art walk flew under the radar for a long time, but Londoners are slowly waking up to its peculiar charms. Climb one of the Tuscan city’s surrounding hills for views of Brunelleschi’s knockout terracotta-tiled Duomo — or worship it from a rooftop bar at one of several boutique hotels.

Wander at will and you’ll come across picturesque half-beamed cottages, a watermill, a beautiful row of village green cottages, and, a 15-minute walk west along Dial Green Lane, even a winery selling mead, honey, gin and raspberry liqueur. The statue is in honour of Gertrude Baillie Weaver, a suffragette who co-founded the aforementioned National Council. On cold days, visit historic pubs with cosy snugs; in milder weather, cycle along the promenade to Salthill, along a rocky coastline dotted with lighthouses.

As well as enjoying the relaxing vibes and beautiful plants, this garden also gets a lovely view out over London.

Head to this particularly gorgeous spot, near Borough Market, in September and October when the leaves begin to turn. We would also like to send you exclusive promotions, competitions and content from The Times and Sunday Times and selected partners.

We’ve collected ten of the prettiest ones you can easily visit, taken from the book ‘Escape London’ by Yolanda Zappaterra . Back in the early Twentieth-Century, Alfriston so captivatedauthorEleanor Farjeon that she wrote the classic hymn 'Morning Has Broken' (later recorded by Cat Stevens) while staying here. With its cobblestone streets and peaceful, tree-lined canals, it's not hard to see Bruges as one big fairytale setting come to life. If you ask me, Coombe Wood in Croydon (shout out to my hometown) is worthy of far more acclaim than it gets. Aside from its beautiful Gothic buildings, cobblestoned Royal Mile, and 12th-century castle keeping watch on a hilltop, it also happens to have an extinct volcano within its parameters. Although, for those that like their street food, Camden is the better destination for a bite after your jaunt.
