Sharpness remains excellent all the way through to f/11, but drops off at f/16 due to diffraction (Image credit: Matthew Richards) Yes, that is the short answer to this. Although Sigma lenses aren’t as good as their Fujifilm counterparts, they are a good alternative when considering quality and features against the price. And to be fair to Sigma, the picture quality gap is so close you wouldn’t even notice. So, unless you’re a pixel peeper, don’t worry about the differences in quality. Is the Sigma 56mm f1.4 lens weather-sealed? Do not power OFF the camera and ensure the USB cable is properly connected during the data transfer.

Sigma's latest offerings is very good. The 16 1.4 is on par IQ-wise with Fuji's XF16 and cost half. I think Fuji needs more XC lenses. They are basically the equivalent of the DX lenses from Nikon and Canon - which means - optically high quality - but physically not sealed and not made of metal bodies - which is mostly fine by me.

If you want a top-performing portrait lens for a great price, the Sigma 56mm f/1.4 is a great choice.
