About this deal

This shoe’s blend of versatility and stability did well for WODs that blended strength work with things like short runs, double-unders, and box jumps. I liked that even for longer WODs these didn’t get too uncomfortable. Granted, it did take a week or so to get them there. The flat wide bottom almost slaps the ground as you run. Minimal running in the gym they worked okay but I did run a 5k in them to get a real running experience and it’s just not what they are made for. Heavy squats and deadlifts were on the menu. The flat base made me feel grounded and firm to the floor. With each movement the shoes stayed true to shape and comfortable throughout. I wouldnt reccomend them for dance classes like ballet but they could probably work for simple zumba. They flex with your foot but not to the extent of standing on the toe and are a bit heavy to really spin in. I personally like that the clip of this model has a denser feel to it and that it sits a little more flush with the upper around the boot. I think this was a good change and it should be a nice benefit for athletes and lifters that like training shoes with more ankle support.

The main changes from X2 to X3 are the unisex sizing, the L.A.R. Chassis in the midsole, and updated tread pattern. Otherwise, the shoes are pretty much the same—similar upper, similar lacing system, similar tongue, similar rope guard, and similar overall shape.

The first thing to like about the Reebok Nano X3 is its range of performance. I like how well-rounded this model is and that it performed well for the wide range of training tasks I’ve thrown at it.

For example, if you regularly train in barefoot shoes or models like the STR/KE MVMNT Haze Trainer which has a higher degree of sole flexibility, then you may find the Nano X3 to feel like “too much shoe” for your preferences. 3. Sole Runs a Little Stiff At First In testing, I was thoroughly pleased with the level of stability found in both the Metcon 8s and Nano X3s. In the Nikes, the React Foam midsole provided that perfect blend of rigidity and coziness that’s made it a go-to for many athletes throughout the years. In the case for Reebok, I enjoyed the rigidity displayed across the new chassis system, and the Floatride Energy foam gave a nice blend of cushioning without creating too much plush.Review written on 29th June by Josh McClurg Josh McClurg is from western Pennsylvania, close to Pittsburgh. He is 33 years old and is a diesel mechanic for work and a fitness fanatic for hobby. The Reebok Nano X3 delivers a versatile performance that should accommodate a wide range of needs for different athletes and lifters. This model works well for heavy lifting, versatile training, short runs, and athletic-style training. 1. Great for athletes and lifters wanting versatility New this year, the Nano X3s feature a Lift And Run (L.A.R.) Chassis in the midsole. According to a press release from Reebok, this is a “new midsole technology built for stability when lifting and added cushioning for running and jumping.” The outsole on the Nano X3 has also been reworked and the consistent rubber outsole with a lug pattern that we saw on the Nano X1 and Nano X2 is no more. The Nano X3’s outsole is fully rubber and features a smoother lug treat patterning. In addition, this shoe also has what looks like the “metasplit” design that came in the Reebok Nano 7, 8, 9, and X built-in, however, Reebok hasn’t made a point to call this feature out, so I’m saying that more so as it’s a visual representation of the design and not a set-in-stone feature.

I preface this testing section by saying neither the Metcon 8s or Nano X3s should be viewed as replacements for your typical running shoes. As stated earlier, shoes designed for in-gym training feature less cushioning than dedicated running sneakers and are more rigid by nature. With that said, however, there are occasions where you need to be multi-faceted in your training, especially when working through a WOD or HIIT session that calls for some sprints or longer jogs. I truly do enjoy these shoes for all day wearing and gym usage. I love how they hold my foot in place and alloe my toes to breathe as well.

Over the course of my testing and review process with the Reebok Nano X3, I’ve found a few pros that I really enjoy with this shoe. 1. Good Well-Rounded Performance To discuss the performance of the Reebok Nano X3, I tried to take these shoes through a wide range of workouts. I tested this model for heavier weight training, CrossFit, and versatile training, and have used them for short runs. Like the popular Nike Metcon, No Bull, and Vans Ultrarange, these shoes are making waves in the fitness industry. The Nano was already a hit before but with the new tech involved, I’ve noticed many more people using them in the gym! I like that the snugger fitting upper, however, I did notice that it folds a bit at the bottom of the toe box if you lace your shoes tight. This is more of a cosmetic gripe than a performance limiter, by the way. These shoes will more than likely take a few sessions to break in and they won’t come out of the box super mobile. The Nano X1 and Nano X2’s downfall with its ROPEPRO was the sharp ridge breaking on the medial midfoot. While I haven’t had a chance to test the Nano X3s for rope climbs yet, it feels more durable upon my first few workouts and impressions of this model. On the market for new cross-training shoes?
