Katharine House Hospice is a local charity that relies on the kindness and generosity of our community to cover most of the cost of our vital free care services. Our care is free and provided where and when it is needed most – in the community, at home, or at our hospice. There are opportunities to stimulate interests and get involved in activities - or just to relax in a charming, comfortable environment. Together we provide care for the families of mid-Staffordshire and we could not have done this without the support of our local community.

We would be delighted to collect your quality used furniture and other large items, including electricals, for free.Many people believe that we treat cancer patients only, however we care for people with a range of conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, end-stage Renal failure and cancer. Anyone who is concerned about the cause of a death can inform a coroner about it, but in many cases a death will be reported by a doctor or the police.

Brian loved life and his terminal diagnosis came as a huge shock to his family, but the care he received from the Community Palliative Care Team was second to none. We hope you will be pleased with all aspects of our care and services, and would appreciate knowing if there is any more we can do. Inpatients in our hospice can have two visitors with them at any one time between 8am and 8pm (they don't have to be the same two visitors throughout the day).

The main role of the coroner service is to scrutinise local deaths where, for various reasons, a doctor is unable to issue a medical certificate of cause of death, or because a person’s death was in some way unnatural or suspicious.
