About this deal

They tend to occur on the leading edge of lithospheric plates, the west coasts of both North and South America being excellent examples. Legzira Beach located to the South of Agadir in Morocco is one of the most unique beaches in the world.

However, much like the recent Murder Hole Beach pathway, access has been made easier for budding travellers and locals alike.

This happens when the softer bottom layers are washed off by the waves that collide with the rocks over a period of time. It is a coastal arch that naturally either forms a bridge shape and a door style to move from one section of the ocean to another. Beaches of this kind usually accumulate during relatively low wave-energy conditions and are removed during the stormy season when waves are larger. These archways may have an arcuate or rectangular shape, with the opening extending below water level.

Barring the effects of tectonic uplift and sea level change, erosion is the dominate geomorphic process acting on coasts. Natural arches commonly form where inland cliffs, coastal cliffs, fins or stacks are subject to erosion from the sea, rivers or weathering ( subaerial processes). Most midlatitude beaches undergo a cycle of erosion and deposition following the seasonal changes in wave action. It is one of the best places in Ireland for a photo, made even more stunning under the dark skies and stars. When they can no longer hold the weight of the arch, it collapses under its own weight, leaving behind a pile of rocks known as a sea stack.Visitors may want to bring binoculars, as it’s a popular place to view seals, vultures and other marine life as well. Jetties are commonly placed along the inlet mouths to stabilize them and keep them open for navigation. Some of the most spectacular scenery is found along coastlines and produced by the effects of wave erosion.

Their vertical nature is the result of wave-induced erosion near sea level and the subsequent collapse of rocks at higher elevation.Arches are the hollow caves formed due to continuous strike of wave and wind on the weaker section of rocks.
