About this deal

The Buddy has a great name and, like the Karcher WD 3, has a slightly larger capacity than the UniversalVac 15. Buddy also has a bit more power (1200W), so it doesn’t have to work quite as hard. Though it doesn’t come as standard, a special car cleaning kit is available for Buddy. The included floor-head has a removable brush for dry floors and rubber blades for water spillages. Both are mounted on a plastic carrier that clips on and off with ease, so no fiddly sliding the brushes or blades into place.

To empty the large 20l capacity bin there’s a handy liquid drain hole on the front. After testing a few wet and dry vacuums, this is the first we’ve seen with a simple screw-fit drain plug that saves you hefting the entire bin. i was so impressed I started using it as the regular household vac and there is isn't so fantastic. It is still incredibly powerful despite using only 1000 watts of electricity, so it is very energy efficient. But it doesn't come with a suitable floor nozzle to use on carpets, you can't retract the brush so it is very hard to drag across carpet. The combination of very strong suction and a floor nozzle that grips carpet means it clamps itself to the carpet and you need quite a bit of muscle to move it. I tried using the floor nozzle from my old Miele vac and it fitted the Bosch tubes, and worked very well, gliding easily over the carpet but collecting every bit of dirt.Buddy is also a bit cheaper than the Bosch, which is always an alluring prospect. Draper 90107 Wet and Dry Vacuum Cleaner vs Bosch UniversalVac 15 Ultimately, there is very little to separate these two. The WD 3 has two litres of extra volume, though for DIY use, it’s not an important difference. It may well come down to which colour you prefer. Nilfisk Buddy II 18 vs Bosch UniversalVac 15

They are particularly robust and therefore practical for use in the garage or workshop and outdoors – whether in the yard, terrace or garden shed. The floor-head is basic but effective and comes with two attachments: one for wet spills and one for dry areas. Even without the help of rotating brush bars, the Bosch pulled out animal hair with ease, even those wound deep into the carpet pile. The excellent onboard storage system makes transportation an easy ride, the wheels are smooth-running and the brakes a nice touch… even if we doubt anyone will use them. Not having to change the filter in-between wet and dry cleaning was an added bonus. Had it not been for the woefully short mains cable and slightly leaky dust bag, the Bosch would have bagged a full five stars. Should I buy the Bosch AdvancedVac 20 Wet And Dry Vacuum? Second time around I was more careful, did some homework. the Bosch has a good long hose and a reasonable length cord, the cord could be longer though. It is MUCH quieter than the returned one. Still fairly loud, but not painfully so. It has a good floor nozzle for hard floors and for vacuuming up water. It is very very powerful. It fits together nicely for storage, the hose can be held in place with two elasticated loops when not in use, and the fittings clip in to the base for storage. It comes with an adaptor to fit Bosch power tools so sanding doesn't make such a mess. It might fit other brands of tools, too? This product has been thoughtfully designed and it shows.
