Wooden panels are perfect for upcycling and easier to paint than acrylic panels. Before you paint over a wooden panel, carefully remove it, sand it down and prime it and then once you have chosen your desired colour paint a few coats and leave it to dry thoroughly before replacing it. Fitting the panel is very simple, even for a DIY disaster zone like me. Cleaning the panel is very simple, just wipe with a damp cloth or a wet wipe and its done. for me it was a tight squeeze as I'm not a diyer and I was pushed for space but it's in and it looks great. it's not high enough for our bath and I've no idea what the white things were for but I used them to prop it higher and put a skirting board on it. no one can tell and it looks great. I've had comments about how sleek it looks and I think they mean flat rather than the usual bowed out bath panels. then I tell them about the sliding doors and everyone wants one. I've never fitted a bath panel before so I can't comment on whether it not it was easy in comparison but I just drilled through a hot water pipe putting up a mirror so if I can fit that panel anyone can. My plumber recommended this because I have had much difficulty removing the bath panel when I have had problems with bath taps. Worth paying extra for magnetic closures for the doors rather than having a key. Hope that eventually is may be available in different colours though this looks fine with my elderly cream bath...
Finding the storage bath panel was a real find. The panel is very pleasing on the eye, solid and the paint finish bounces light onto the floor. This bath panel is sturdy and easy to fit. We have just updated our bath room and I wanted a bath panel with storage, but all the ones we found we flimsy and knew they would not last. But we read a review on plumbworld for this bath panel saying it was good but it's brilliant! Great price and great service from plumbword The panel was very easy to put together and the instructions are very clear. I was a bit dubious about it being folded, but when the panel is straightened out and the holding plate screwed on you have to have to be intent on finding the join to notice it. Slots under the bath well although I had to add a bit of sealant to stop it moving at the top, but thats more of our baths shape than the panel. Once in place against the battens the doors slide smoothly and we now have a useful storage area under the bath. Also, should you need to do any serious maintenance under the bath, the panel could be quite easily be removed.This is the third Croydex side panel we've had in the eight years we've had our bathroom, the previous ones replaced because they rotted from the outside in, being made of painted hardboard. I wouldn't be without my extra storage behind the bath panel otherwise it's wasted space and I was really pleased that Croydex have started making the panels with some sort of toughened exterior, more like an actual bath panel. This hasn't stopped my husband painting the insides with smelly sealant though! Ive seen other bath panels advertised but they usually drop the whole side, I dont have space to drop the entire side owing to the sink pedestal being in the way. Therefore this storage bath panel from BATHPANELS really are superior in every way. There are two access hatches disguised as panels on the front to get to your stored items. The hatches are firmly held in place by a lip at the bottom and magnets, all of which are completely hidden. This of course, broke the panel after a couple of years and I looked for something built for purpose. Storage in my bathroom was desperately needed. Having a tiny bathroom I used to pop out my acrylic bath panel to store cleaning and washing supplies.
To get this look, start from the top of the bath panel and continue down and onto the entire floor with similar stripes of cream, buttercup yellow, amber, blush pink and finish with rich terracotta-coloured tiles. We have been looking for some panels for ages that also give us access to the pipes under the bath without having to take all the panel off completely (having had a couple of water leaks over the years)--and this fits the bill as well as being an extra storage area. Easy to install - needed trimming down slightly but that was straightforward. The magnets securing the opening panels are strong so they stay on well but are easy to remove to access the bath void. Great to be able to use that extra space for spare loo rolls, toiletries and towels. Once you are ready to start painting, use a primer to protect the wood from water damage. For the undercoat and topcoat, an eggshell emulsion will create a smooth finish. Since mildew-resistant properties were added to paint, a gloss is no longer vital, but good ventilation is always recommended.The design of your bath panel can be changed drastically purely by changing the way your tiles are laid. By adjusting the pattern of your tiles, you can easily add a sense of individuality to your bathroom. All in it has revamped the bathroom (old panel was unsightly and not very secure) and added more functionality to a utility area of the home. Bought this Bath panel recently it was excellent value really easy to install by a novice and looks great a lot more expensive looking than it costs. Really good. Paint finish and the storage compartments are roomy keeps plenty of stuff hidden. Highly recommended if. Your replacing your panel in the near future. Many bath manufactures now offer specialist bath panel boards which can make the process a lot easier as the panels can take the extra weight of the tiles with minimal fuss. You can either choose to blend it seamlessly by continuing your tiles on the panel or create an even bigger focal point by contrasting the tiles.’
