About this deal

If any of the above symptoms apply to you, you should avoid using Vagisan Moist Cream until you have discussed them with your GP first. What Is Vagisan Moist Cream? Dr. Wolff’s Vagisan Moisturizing Cream is a hormone-free cream for vaginal dryness. It alleviates symptoms like burning, itching and pain caused by vaginal dryness. It also helps for pain during sex. Can be used alongside hormone replacement therapy or with vaginal creams or pessaries that do contain hormones (estrogen)

Here, it’s important to distinguish between the vagina and the vulva. Although the word ‘vagina’ is often used colloquially to mean the whole vaginal area, it actually refers to the muscular canal that connects the uterus and cervix to the outside of the body. The most anatomically correct term for the external genital area is the vulva. As Dr Morton explains, the vagina (the internal area) is actually self-cleaning, so there’s no need for anything like douching, which will only disturb the natural balance of the vagina. If you want to clean the vulva, using water or a gentle soap is usually sufficient. Do pelvic floor exercises actually work? For further instruction on how to apply the cream using the applicator refer to your product leaflet which comes in the box. This will contain in depth instructions and a diagram, ensuring it is made clear to you the proper way to insert the cream. It is recommended that you read the product leaflet before use. To use the cream internally without the applicator use a clean finger with a ribbon of product approximately 2cm in length. For those using the applicator, make sure to fill it approximately half way (or 2.5g of cream). To make application easier apply a small amount of cream around the area of the vaginal entrance. This should be applied daily, preferably in the evening before bed (and wearing a panty liner where possible). Once your symptoms have improved you can reduce how often you use the cream, but this is based on your own needs and usage may have to increase again. Womens’s Health Concern (2022,) https://www.womens-health-concern.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/25-WHC-FACTSHEET-VaginalDryness-NOV2022-B.pdf Based on the latest findings, tear strength of condoms and caps/ diaphragms (made of latex or polyurethane or polyisoprene) can be compromised with simultaneous use of Vagisan Moisturising Cream. Therefore, as a precautionary measure, the cream should not be used with condoms or caps/ diaphragms. They absolutely do!” says Dr Morton. “I advise women to exercise their pelvic floor every time they’re standing still for a while: brushing their teeth; in the queue at the Post Office. It’s better to prevent urine leakage than try to cure it.” Aqua, Benzyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Palmitate, Lactic Acid, Octyldodecanol, Polysorbate 60, Sodium Lactate, Sorbitan Stearate. If such symptoms persist and do not improve, you should stop using Dr Wolff’s Vagisan MoistCream and consult a doctor. If you notice any other unpleasant effects, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Where Vagisan CAN be used before sexual intercourse to alleviate you symptoms, it can also compromise the tear strength of condoms and caps/diaphragms, as this is the case, you should avoid using the cream in conjunction with these contraceptive products. Vagisan also does not contain any spermicides and therefore does not protect against unwanted pregnancy. Do not use Vagisan Moist Cream if you have a vaginal infection (e.g Thrush); in this event you should see your doctor. You are still able to use Vagisan during pregnancy however, the applicator should not be used to apply cream internally. To insert the cream use a clean finger and around 2cm worth of product. The cream must not be used immediately after childbirth. Several clinical studies have been performed with Dr. Wolff’s Vagisan Moisturising Cream, proving its efficacy and tolerability. Not only did the cream show superior efficacy as well as tolerability as compared to a water-based non-hormonal gel 4, but it was statistically significantly non-inferior to a hormone-containing cream (estriol 0.1%) in terms of improvement on subjective symptoms of vaginal dryness 5. Also available as an innovative pessary for greater convenience without the use of an applicator: Dr. Wolff’s Vagisan Moisturising Cremolum
