Colours on the board are very neat and clean and no patches on the segments except for a slight issue mentioned below. It is overall vibrant, neat and clear and edges where the spider is seated is neat and cut clean. Although its a board that has veins it is surprisingly clear throughout and no major blemishes in the sisal surface. Its uniformally flat and neat across the surface.

I got the board early in 2020 and it had been badged with the BDO logo whereas previously it had the EDO logo. Since then the BDO is no more and I am told it no longer has any badges of any organisation on it. Overall, both dartboards are excellent choices, and may darts players will often have to choose between the Winmau Blade 5 and the one80 Gladiator 3. Generally speaking, if you are throwing lighter darts below 23 grams (and have a lighter throw in general), you may have a better experience with a slightly softer dartboard like the Winamu Blade 5 or the Blade 5 Dual Core. For all the ’01 dart players out there, this dartboard will automatically calculate and display your average points after each round.A new high performance color paint has been used on the G3 allowing the sisal to breath freely and not sealing the surface. I took delivery of the new One80 dartboard a few days ago and I know many have been eagerly awaiting its arrival since it was first announced so finally that wait is over, or it will be very soon when it hits the shops 🙂 I think the changes/improvements are probably ones we cant see as it looks very much the same but it may be that they have improved the spider and sisal to wear better and also be better for people who thought it was too hard on the G2.

A poor quality dartboard can literally make any beginner darts player give up on darts before they have even started. On the other hand, beyond a certain point, a higher price tag may be indicative of additional features and game variations, maybe even some fancy LED lights and whatnot. The dartboard has very good self-healing capabilities, so you will not have to worry about its longevity—as long as you make sure to rotate it every now and then so that the different sections can heal, especially if you play a lot of ’01s.

Target launch

Generally speaking, both the Blade 5 and the Blade 5 Dual Core are of excellent quality, and players should not have any problems with bounce outs or darts falling out. Noise level from darts impact was pretty quiet, just a slight higher pitched thud but I think its down to the plastic shoes impacting against the wall. Still all told its a good level of sound, not really noisy at all. The only downside to this dartboard is that sometimes it has issues with its LED lights. Especially since they can be damaged by throwing a dart in the most far outside holes where the numbers are—so it may not be the best board for a complete beginner.
