About this deal

Tracedown Graphite Tracing down paper, available in A4 or A3 packs of Single or Five sheets, supplied in re-sealable plastic pocket with cardboard liner.

Encourage someone important in your life to create works of art that impress even themselves by sending them this superb premium set of transfer papers. Tracedown Graphite is an incredibly versatile wax-free transfer paper which allows you to copy designs onto just about any surface.

Be aware that graphite paper can leave residue on your hands, so wash them after using to avoid smudging your work.

It’s a good idea to test/check first to make sure you have the proper side down before copying your entire design. With our graphite based paper sheets, quickly copy your designs onto your craft project, making for faster and efficient artworks. The darker coloured Tracedown sheets are ideal for use with white paper or light coloured surfaces, while for darker projects white and yellow are more suitable. When you're finished, slowly release the artist tape from the canvas, lifting each corner one by one. Double-check that the tape on the transfer paper and the tape on the reference photo are tight and secure. Graphite transfer is a simple, traditional method used by illustrators, designers and artists to transfer same-sized drawings from a preliminary surface to a final working surface.

This 25-sheet pack is an economical choice that yields noticeably darker lines than most graphite transfer papers. I help aspiring artists learn to paint for fun AND for profit even if they've never sold any of their work before. The important thing is to make a mark noting every visual piece of information that you will need to create your painting. While not the ideal choice for professional works or artworks with lots of transparent paints, especially since the marks takes more effort to erase, it’s a good option for designs where it’s really helpful to have visible outlines. I would not recommend using carbon paper for art-transfer purposes because it's coated with wax which makes it difficult to erase (because the carbon copy was meant to last a long time). So, what if you captured something amazing, but it’s on the wrong paper or in a little sketch book or you just want it bigger? Tracing the outline to ensure the right proportions is great as one can spend lots of time trying to get the proportions absolutely correct.
